Porsche 912 2.0L Flat 4 1976

General description : 1976 Porsche 912E The 912 line from Porsche was manufactured from 1965 through 1969 and was a variant of the Type 911.  Initially it outsold the 911 which would later become one of the most famous sports cars of all time.  In 1976 the 912E model was released for the US only and featured a Porsche designed VW flat 4 motor.  These cars were nimble, compact, performance sports cars that also were very economical when it comes to fuel.  2,100 were produced and they filled the position of the 914 while Porsche was working on the 924 for release in 77.  The 912E you see here is a great looking car that runs just as well.  It is painted a nice Black paint and the wide body kit accentuates the originally body lines perfectly.  The kit along with the custom wheels (18x8-F, 18x10-R) were purchased from Better Bodies out of California.  They really add to the cars already sporty look and sets it apart from other stock 912Es out there.  Although it is not currently in place the car also comes with the whale tail to mount on the back.  The glass is all in great shape and has all new rubber for the windshield and rear window.  Powering this car down the road is a 2.0L Type 4 flat 4 motor that is original to the car.  The E in 912E stands for Einspritzung which is translated to injection.  These motors were originally fuel injected but this one has had that removed and replaced with dual weber carbs with 40mm downdrafts.  The original injection system does come with the car should the next owner want to return it to stock.  The motor is paired with a 5 speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly with no issues.  The car has 4 wheels disc brakes and is extremely fun to drive!   The interior is done in Black and has just been redone.  It features all new leather upholstery, new door panels, a new headliner and new carpet.  The bucket seats are comfortable and feature diamond stitching in the middle.  The dash has the original layout but has been upgraded with a GPS speedometer and Pioneer AM/FM/CD player.  This is an extremely fun car with some subtle modifications that really make it look tough.  If you have never had the opportunity to drive a Porsche then you are missing out because they are in a league of their own.  Many people see the Porsche name and picture dollar signs but this one is being offered up at a very reasonable price so don't miss out! Finally get that dream car you have always wanted for the reduced price of only $23,500.00 $21,500.00!

About Porsche 912
The Porsche 912 was introduced in 1965 as a more affordable option to the 911. It was essentially a 911 with a 4-cylinder engine instead of the 911's 6-cylinder engine. The 912 was designed to appeal to drivers who appreciated the performance and handling of the 911 but were looking for a more affordable option.

Despite the smaller engine, the 912 had many of the same features as the 911, including disc brakes and independent suspension. It was also lighter than the 911, which made it more nimble and agile.

The Porsche 912 quickly gained a following among enthusiasts who appreciated its handling and performance, as well as its more affordable price tag. Today, the 912 is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, and is considered a classic Porsche model. And as the owners know 912 will out handle any 911 of the era.
