Die letzte Ausbaustufe des großen V8 Porsche 928, welcher im Modelljahr 1992 als Porsche 928 GTS vorgestellt und mit Automatikgetriebe nur 2164 mal gebaut wurde. Er löste den S4 und den GT ab. Er hat einen größeren Motor mit einer Leistung von 350 PS. Bremsanlage und Fahrwerk wurden überarbeitet und weiter verbessert. Von den Vorgängern S4 und GT unterschied er sich insbesondere durch das verbreiterte Heck und das durchgehende Leuchtenband. Auch der Heckflügel wurde in Wagenfarbe lackiert und die Außenspiegel im neuen Cup-Design ausgeführt. Weiterhin gehörten die 17-Zoll-Leichtmetallräder ebenfalls im CUP-Design zur Serienausstattung.
