Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1941 Plymouth De Luxe Business Coupe! During the Great Depression, Plymouth was looking for a new car to offer the public. The De Luxe was unveiled in 1933. Moving into the 40s the world was at war. Production would not last long into 1942 when the government ordered the complete shut down of all civilian automotive manufacturing. This was in direct response to the start of the U.S.'s involvement in WWII. Civilian manufacturing wouldn't resume until the end of the war for the 1946 model year. This model is from 1941 and wow is she a head turner! The Thistle PPG Base Coat-Clear Coat paint is sharp and in good shape. Couple that with the chrome and white wall tires and you really have a cool ride! Inside you'll find gray tweed seats that is in great order. The Thistle color extends to the dash for continuity and flows well. Under the hood is a rebuilt 355ci V8 backed by a rebuilt 700R4 4-Speed Automatic Transmission w/Cooler. Powertrain rebuild was completed in 1996. Interior was finished in 2000. She is sporting a Ford 9" rear end with a 3.00 gear ratio. Good power and enough gears and the right ratio to enjoy her for a long cruise!
