Der Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow wurde 1965 vorgestellt und löste 1965 den Silver Cloud ab. Der für RR geradezu revolutionäre Karosserie-Entwurf stammte aus dem hauseigenen Styling-Studio, unter Leitung von John P. Blatchley. Der Silver Shadow war technisch und optisch auf der Höhe der Zeit. Erstmals wurden technische Neuerungen wie Scheibenbremsen, eine unabhängige Radaufhängung und eine Niveauregulierung eingesetzt. Dieser Rolls Royce war in seinen Außenabmessungen in allen Dimensionen kleiner und auch leichter als vorige Modelle, dennoch konnte der Innenraum durch die selbsttragende Karosserie vergrößert werden. Perfekte Verarbeitung aller Komponenten und eine überaus umfangreiche Ausstattung, die schieren Luxus bot, waren Merkmale dieses feinen Automobils.
Der hier angebotene Silver Shadow stammt aus der gesuchten 1.sten Serie zu erkennen u.a. an den Chromstoßstangen. Dieses wunderschöne Exemplar war eine amerikanische Erstauslieferung und kam 1996 nach Europa. Es wurde stets vorbildlich gewartet, sicher schon einmal fachgerecht lackiert und besticht heute mit einer würdevollen Patina. Motor, Getriebe, Fahrwerk und Elektrik verrichten einwandfrei ihren Dienst. Das Conolly Leder verströmt noch heute seinen wundervollen Duft. Die verhältnismäßig niedrige Laufleistung kann, aufgrund des überaus guten und gepflegten Zustandes, als authentisch angesehen werden.
