Rover P6 (2000/2200/3500) 315 V8 1970

General description : 1970 Rover P6 3500S NADA 103k Miles 315 V8 Engine Borg Warner 35 Transmission
Here we have a 1970 Rover P6 3500S (NADA) for sale. This car was manufactured for export to the United States in Warwickshire, England. All the Rovers made for export were converted to a left-hand drive before leaving the factory. Only about 1700 of these cars were produced for sale in North America before they were discontinued in 1971. However, the Rover was still produced in England until 1977. During the era that the Rover was introduced it was a luxury car meant to compete with Mercedes and Jaguar. This particular car is well known in the Rover community, and it was entered into the Rover Owners Club of North America in 2003.
This car is a pristine time capsule and is in excellent condition with 166k Kilometers on it which converts to 103k original miles. It is covered in a red paint that is still in great condition and it still has all of the trim items. This is a very solid car that has great body lines and has had a Ziebart treatment to help protect and prevent rust throughout the years. It has a functioning hood scoop, as well as factory mag simulators. To finish off the exterior it is sitting on 14-inch wheels that are wrapped in 185/75 Michelin tires that look to have plenty of life left.
On the inside it is done in a black color scheme with a hard-wearing ambla vinyl interior, and features wood grain on the doors. The carpet has been replaced in this car and it has a great fit to it. It has reclining bucket seats in the front as well as a dual console. The interior in this car is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. Looking at the dash you will notice that it also features a leather tilt steering wheel and an AM/FM Cassette radio with a Blaupunkt sound system. It has power windows with standard door locks and mirrors. It also features a factory RPM tachometer and all the gauges on the dash seem to be working as they should. Overall, the interior is in just as great condition as the exterior on this Rover.
Under the hood it is powered by a 315 V8 engine which is a Buick engine that went on to power other British cars such as the Range Rover and MG. It is mated to a 3-speed Borg Warner 35 automatic transmission, which was popular in European cars in this era. The factory SU carbs and the ignition have both been replaced. On the highway this car runs and drives phenomenally, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes feel to have plenty of life left in them as well. This unique classic would make a great addition to your collection or a fun weekend cruiser.
