General description :
Baujahr Juni 1936, 6 Zylinder, 80 PS, 3800ccm, das erste Stromlinien-Auto von Volvo aufgrund der eleganten Form nach einem damals sehr populärem elegantem Süd-Amerikanischem Tanz benannt ( Carioca ), von 1936-1938 wurden nur 500 Stück gebaut und man vermutet auf der Welt nur noch ca. 10 überlebende Exemplare !! Am 24. November 1936 wurde für den Volvo Carioca mit der Fahrgestell-Nummer 80 368 und der Motor-Nummer 59 231 die Volvo-Garantie mit einer Laufzeit von 6 Monaten ab Lieferdatum ausgestellt. Die originale Urkunde ist bis heute beim Fahrzeug geblieben. Über die ersten Jahre in Schweden geben die Zulassungsdokumente Auskunft, die als beglaubigte Kopie erhalten sind. Die erste Zulassung erfolgte am 17.11.1936 in Rydsgård auf den Namen Oskar Ernst Eugen Frising als Personenwagen für 5 Personen. 1938 wurde das Fahrzeug auf Holzvergaser umgerüstet. Das führte zu einigen Änderungen in den Papieren: Die Länge wuchs von 495 cm auf 555 cm, das Gewicht von 1780 kg auf 1980 kg, die PS-Angabe wurde ersatzlos gestrichen und das Antriebsmittel hieß jetzt „Kolgas“. 1940 wurde der Carioca stillgelegt und 1942 auf den ersten Besitzer erneut zugelassen. 1946 werden die technischen Daten durch einen“ Besiktnigsman för motorforden“ in Malmö neu festgestellt. Das Fahrzeug hat jetzt wieder seine ursprüngliche Länge von 495 cm und der Antrieb ist wieder Benzin mit 80 PS Motorleistung. Das Gewicht wird neu mit 1860 kg festgelegt, ebenso die Personenzahl mit 4. So ändern sich im Laufe eines Autolebens durch behördliche Feststellung die Daten. Der Besitzer blieb seinem Volvo noch lange treu und erst zum 1. September 1963 wurde er erneut abgemeldet. Der Wagen ist teilrestauriert, Der Wagen ist komplett geschweißt hat also keinerlei Durchrostung mehr und ist vom Unterboden her komplett korrosionsschutz bearbeitet, Polster + Dachhimmel wurden erneuert, Die Bremsanlage wurde ebenfalls komplett mit Neuteilen instandgesetzt, reinsetzen + Schlüssel rumdrehen + losfahren.....
