Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to present this wild and unique, 1959 Volvo PV544! Anyone familiar with Volvos knows the styling inspiration of the Volvo P544 has far more in common with 1940s Ford Tudors than anything associated with Volvo today. The 50s era Volvos came out the box with sturdy build quality, fat fenders fast back roofs and a tendency to exploit its standard or modified 4 cylinder to the occasional Rally wins. It was well onto its way to becoming a Rally Legend.

The seller of this Silver and Black Volvo PV544 took the racing and performance history of the old PV544 to a level the racers of the past could only dream of. first out went the 4 banger and in with a Japan sourced 2 JZGTE twin turbo inline six engine! These monsters are known for their power. A motor repped the world over for shrugging off 600-800hp with mostly stock internals and copious amounts of boost...then laughing and begging for more. But he didn't stop there. A four speed Toyota automatic from a GS300 and a ford 8.5" rear end with 3.73 gears was also stuffed under the car. This ensures the car has no problem blitzing down the road.

Inside, there's black race seats, custom chrome gauges and center console, with custom door cards. A great place to surprise the uninitiated and revel in the madness of a Supra engine in a 1950s Volvo! Additionally, there's a Boomin sound system and AM/FM radio for when you get tired of the 2JZ roar - like that will ever happen. The car rides on 17" machined wheels with modern low-profile tires and disk brakes and upgraded shocks at all four corners. This 59 Volvo PV544 is a monster and a one-of-a-kind build. If you have a hankering for something never seen and wild and extreme, this old Volvo is for you!
