At Hilton and Moss we are pleased to have this beautiful Austin Healey 3000 for sale at our Bishops Stortford showroom. First released in 1959 the Austin Healey 3000 production ran up until 1967 with MK1, MK11, MK11A and MK111 all built during this time. This particular car is a MK111 Phase 2 built in the very final year of production 1967. The MK111 was the most revised variant in the range with a claimed 150 BHP thanks to a new high lift camshaft and an all new ‘De Luxe’ interior which featured a wooden dash and a fold-down rear luggage shelf. In 1964 the Mk111 received twin indicators and a revised chassis for increased ground clearance and useability.
This particular BJ8 Healey is finished in classic Healey Blue Metallic with an Ivory Duotone. The 72 spoke wire wheels are finished in chrome and are wrapped in period correct tyres. Subject to a major restoration prior to Hilton and Moss acquiring the vehicle this Healey presents in fabulous condition. The body work is incredibly straight with fair panel gaps throughout. The interior is finished in a blend of navy leather and Vinyl with 3-point seat belts in the front and period correct lap belts fitted in the rear. The matching navy vinyl soft top roof is also in great condition. The walnut wood veneer has been fully restored and looks fabulous with no cracks of lifting.
Under the bonnet is equally impressive with a fully detailed engine and bay painted in original POR-15 Austin Healey green. A matching numbers vehicle this car has been fully inspected by our team and is in fabulous mechanical condition. The straight six engine provides smooth power and torque through all four gears and the overdrive is in fully working order. This Healey chassis number HBJ8L 41826 was originally LHD but has since been professionally converted to RHD specification. Imported to the UK in 2006 and owned by the previous keeper since 2018 this 3000 has been dry stored in this time. A full stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted giving a pleasant straight six growl to this beautiful car.
