Bristol 401/402/403 LHD, only four owners from new, only 611 ever made 1951

Allgemeine Beschreibung : This 1951 Bristol 401 Coupe was initially supplied to its first owner in North Wales. Only 611 401’s were ever made. It also happened to be the first 2.0 litre saloon car to reach 160km/hr. With a complete, wind tunnel tested, aluminium bodywork it was similar to a BMW. The relatively light weight bodywork, the aerodynamic shape and the strong 6-cylinder engine all contributing to the top-speed. This is a 4-owner Bristol, with all owners and story behind the cars’ history known to us. The one but last owner bought the Bristol in 1994 and commissioned Barry Hodson Cars of Melton Mowbray in England to completely restore the car. The Engine underwent a full overhaul by Bristol Cars and a new gearbox with overdrive was fitted. The straight bodywork is splendid with nice paintwork. The superbly original interior trim has a wonderful patina. The last owner bought the completely restored car in 1998 and imported it to the Netherlands. Over the last few years the car been used sparingly. The maintenance has been excellent. In May 2019 the cylinder head was completely overhauled followed by a major service in June.
