With its high impact, skillfully modded exterior, this 1937 Buick Coupe will attract attention wherever it goes. It's no mere display piece, however - its rock solid running condition combines with an array of well-chosen convenience features to not only make it a force to be reckoned with at any car show, but also well suited to regular driving in everyday conditions.
You don't often see a color quite like the Brilliant green metallic this '37 wears. It's one very distinctive, appealing shade that's been skillfully applied, so the exterior on this classic is very much in top form. Get up close and you'll see that the trim pieces carry a Hammertone finish that also shows some serious workmanship and makes this coupe even more appealingly distinctive. The fit and finish elements are well accounted for - the addition of the modded headlights and taillights has been done exceedingly well, the hydraulically operated trunk and hood function just as intended and the rubber surrounding the clear glass on all sides of the cabin is fresh and supple. Aggressively modified front and rear fenders offer a great counterbalance to the overall vintage vibe and they, along with all other body panels, are well aligned. As there's plenty of power under the hood, fellow motorists are likely to get a good view of this Buick from behind, and when they do, they'll see how the distinctive taillights, with their bezels deleted, combine with the pair of perfectly positioned chrome exhaust tips below them to provide a great look in back.
The white interior offers an effective contrast to the dynamic exterior and its ultraleather surfaces feature the look and feel of leather combined with far greater durability over the long haul. The bucket seats show plenty of detail, are well-padded for comfort and sit astride a custom center console that blends in perfectly with its surroundings and harbors an assortment of securely installed control switches while placing an enticing B&M shifter within easy reach. With the rear bench seat removed, there's some convenient light storage space in back that's been finished off nicely. The dash area combines a well-prepped surface that's been painted to match the exterior with a great-looking assortment of white faced Autometer gauges surrounded by a textured brushed aluminum cluster panel. The AM/FM/CD player sitting at the center of the dash has been seamlessly installed to fill the cabin with sound, while the A/C blows cold keeping it nice and comfortable for you and your passenger.
This rolling attention magnet is well equipped to hit the road whenever you see fit. A 350 cubic inch crate V8 sits in its super clean engine bay, wearing a chrome air cleaner and a pair of chrome valve covers so skillfully etched with Buick lettering they have to be seen up close to be fully appreciated. This car is, by any measure, a rock solid driver - the engine starts easily and pulls with conviction and the 3-speed automatic transmission behind it shifts as smoothly as you could want. The powerplant carries a Holley 4-barrel carb under its distinctive air cleaner and sounds great as it vocalizes into its ceramic coated headers that lead to a dual exhaust. Power front disc brakes and power steering make both stopping and navigating this classic low effort tasks as it cruises on its set of 15" Cragar wire wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A radials.
