Cadillac De Ville 4.1 liter V8 1983

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 1-OWNER CADDY, NEVER LEFT ATL, 41K ACTUAL MILE, ALL-STOCK, R134A A/C, SUPERCLEAN

This super-clean 1983 Cadillac Coupe DeVille D'Elegance is one of those awesome survivors that you always admire at the local shows. The proverbial little old lady special, it has had just one owner who always treated it like something special. The result is an incredibly original car that gives us a great view into what luxury was all about in the early '80s.
The long, elegant Fleetwood shape is timeless today and these cars are well on their way to becoming collectors' items. The Coupe DeVille is a lot rarer than the usual 4-door sedan yet offers the same handsome good looks. The attractive dark blue finish on this super straight car is factory-applied paint, so it has a wonderful shine and surprising depth that you almost don't expect from GM of this period, and the owner claims it has never even been waxed, which should tell you all you need to know about the expert car it has received. It has obviously never been hit or wrecked, so those big doors fit well and open easily, the gaps are quite good all around, and the chrome is shockingly nice. These cars are notorious for their urethane fender caps, which tended to deteriorate with age, but those on this car remain in excellent shape. There's also a padded half roof that's in almost new condition and even the insert on the rear bumper is virtually unmarked. Nice!
If you want a really good view of luxury in 1983, this Cadillac's interior should answer all your questions. Handsome blue velour cloth covers the split front bench seats with matching door panels and plush, deep carpets under your feet. Everything inside this car is hushed, as if there's a librarian in the back seat keeping a lid on everything, and we doubt you've driven a car that's quieter on the highway than this. Everything was included with this Cadillac, too, things such as power windows, locks, and seats, automatic climate control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system that makes great use of the quiet environment. Some faux wood warms things up and with just 41,265 miles on the clock, it looks very good. For a two-door coupe, rear-seat room is expansive and while it can handle three, it's obviously made for two and comfort is paramount. It's awesome for road trips, thanks to a cavernous trunk that's neatly finished with a correct mat and compact spare tire tucked up front where it's out of the way.
Cadillac's 4.1 liter OHV V8 isn't going to win any drag races, but it's smooth, quiet, and competent. It's packed into the engine bay and buried under things like the A/C compressor, but it starts easily and idles almost imperceptibly. It's very clean, suggesting that someone really cared about keeping this one in top shape, and the only notable deviation from stock spec is the R134a refrigerant in the A/C system. It also appears to have a new alternator and recent belts and hoses, so it remains very road-worthy today. The 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission keeps the engine from working too hard and actually delivers pretty good fuel economy at the same time. The underside is quite clean, with what appears to be the original exhaust system, including catalytic converter, more evidence that this car doesn't have a lot of miles on it. Big 225/70/15 whitewall radials are just what you'd expect and they wear stylish wire wheel covers, a traditional luxury touch.
No, this isn't going to be the next big thing in collector cars, but it is a heck of a lot of luxurious sheetmetal for not a lot of cash. Enjoy Cadillac luxury for pennies a day. Call now!
