Gorgeous Factory 1950 Cadillac Series 61 4 Door Sedan
New to our Benicia showroom is this beautiful 1950 Cadillac 61 Special 4 Door Sedan (Throughout the 1950s, the Sixty One would continue as a stretched and optioned-up version of the Cadillac Series 62) with its finish of silver exterior paint and a grey cloth interior.  You’ll find the original 331ci OHV V8 engine producing 160 HP and 312 lb./ft. torque w/ 7.5:1 compression ratio mated  to a date-correct Hydra-Matic automatic transmission under the hood with a 3.36:1 rear end.  It’s also equipped with correct features like heat and a factory defroster, an electric dash clock, reverse lights, an AM radio and a day/night rear view mirror.  With steel wheels, chrome Cadillac hubcaps and Coker Classic wide whitewall tires, this is an exceptional classic Caddy that’s been very nicely cared for throughout its life.
Highly Original w/ Factory 331 OHV Engine in Place
The current owner of this 1950 Cadillac Series 61 Sedan purchased it back in 2008 from the second lifetime owner.  He informed us that he was drawn to this particular example since everything was essentially intact and maintained at extremely high levels.  We are informed that the factory 331 V-8 is still in place and believe that the Hydra-Matic transmission is numbers-matching as well, along with many of the current accessories and trim pieces.  The 1950 Cadillac Series 61 is particularly desirable among investors since it was the first year of the redesigned body style with the new one-piece windshield and the vehicle’s extended wide stance.  Over 41,000 of these four door examples sold in 1950 making it one of Cadillac’s most popular models of that era.
Additionally, this 1950 Cadillac Series 61 Sedan shows nicely in person with clean body lines and an excellent older repaint.  There are some minor nicks/scratches to discover but nothing to take away from the overall curb appeal this prestigious classic has.  The interior is also in very nice period correct shape with minimal levels of wear; most would consider this one a very high end driver that needs little to become show-worthy once again.  It also drives like a dream and handles exactly like a classic Cadillac should.
