Patina trucks teach us there's more than meets the eye. After all, with an awesome air ride suspension, custom details, upgraded A/C interior, and proper V8 power, this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 pickup has a cool kind of confidence that goes beyond its worn-in appearance.
This is a patina'd body, which is always going to get your attention and start conversations wherever you go. But what gives this one back the hint of luster it lost decades ago is some clearcoat over the metal. That's probably this truck's subtlest signal it's something special. Everything else proudly shows off vintage and modern upgrades. You see some great classic hot rod details with the Oldsmobile front bumper, windshield sunshade, and plenty of pinstriping. But then there are also more modern pieces, like the crystal clear headlights. And no matter how low you have this adjustable suspension dialed-in, everyone can see the shine on the large polished Ridler alloys.
Inside there has been an investment in comfort. The bench seat has plenty of padding to be far more comfortable than anything you could get in a '50s pickup. And details like the door panels, headliner, and shift boot were done to coordinate. The first thing you notice when you lift the hood is the cool flame-kissed air grabber. And beneath that is proper Chevy power. The 350 cubic-inch V8 is far more displacement than what came on the entire Advance Design series, and this one is further enhanced with a Demon four-barrel carburetor, Weiand intake, and headers that feed the rumbling dual exhaust. This also has the right supporting components, like an Optima red top battery, serpentine belt system, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. And since you're thinking about cruising this patina machine, upgrades like the three-speed automatic transmission, upgraded independent front suspension, power steering, and power brakes w/front discs will really get your mind going about how far you can easily take this patina pickup.
