Chevrolet Blazer 350 V8 1971

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Give an enthusiast a Jeep, and they'll off-road. Give an enthusiast a K5 Blazer, and they'll off-road with their friends and great comfort!
Introduced as a competitor to the Ford Bronco and International Scout, Chevrolet's awesome K5 Blazer attempted to bring a little luxury to a market invented by Jeep. By offering buyers more room, conveniences like air conditioning, and even a sleek 2-wheel drive model, the Blazer easily became the segment's sales superstar. As with most things in the collector car realm: the older the K5 the better. And this first generation truck is a timeless take on a timeless classic.
BUILDING A BETTER BLAZER
Reliability is the number one concern for folks wanting to purchase a classic they can actually cruise. That's why it's always nice when you find something that, like this Blazer, has been fully restored and, like this Blazer, features modern power. And that's not even considering the fact that ALL our inventory receives a multi-point vehicle inspection courtesy of our own RKM Performance Center! Power comes courtesy of a 350 cubic inch GM crate engine that pairs an iron block with rugged iron heads. At the top of that mill, a polished air cleaner drops wind through a big Holley 4-barrel that's perched on an aluminum GM intake. At the sides of that plane, polished center-bolt valve covers hangs vivid bowties between a polished breather and coated JBA headers. Sparks are sequenced through loomed Chevrolet plug wires, which snap to a modern HEI distributor. At the front of the block, a GM serpentine drive spins modern power steering beneath an AC Delco compressor and an AC Delco alternator. Cooling is provided by an aluminum Champion radiator, which centers quick-spinning puller fans beside a reliable Optima battery. And all that hardware looks great inside a Gloss Black engine bay.
Lovingly restored into a rock-solid cruiser, this K5 benefited from a detailed, frame-off build that marries factory-straight metal to ruggedly robust appeal. It's hard to argue with the aesthetics of any late-60s or early-70s Chevy truck, and this Blazer's 1971 livery, with its subdued forms, prominent grille and brilliant bowtie, might be the year that perfected the run. All that brawn shows well in clean Silver Metallic 2-stage. Cool Custom Sport Truck upgrades add tasteful rocker stripes, prominent door badging and sophisticated tailgate trim. Speaking of trim, all the truck's factory baubles appear new, with dual mirrors reflecting polished handles, clear marker lamps and straight bumpers. And since convertibles are best enjoyed in the sun, this Chevy sports a fresh soft top that can be either folded or completely removed.
OPTIMIZED FOR ENJOYMENT
That said, if it does happen to rain on your one-truck parade, you'll be prepared with custom weather-resistant upholstery! Those durable seats and side panels frame a tasteful Chevrolet dash, which flashes Custom Sport Truck woodgrain next to upgraded factory air conditioning, a faux direct-fit radio and rebuilt telemetry that's complete with a factory tach. That radio is a placeholder because the truck's actual audio, a Bluetooth-capable Sony CD player, lives in a Tuffy Security Console which, in addition to being metal, is fully lockable. That CD player powers a Prime amplifier, which kicks boxed Kicker subs and LED-lit Kicker speakers. The driver spins a factory steering wheel around a tilting column. And the whole kit is detailed with thoughtful niceties like polished door hardware, a polished fire extinguisher and contrasting bowtie floor mats.
Crawling under this rig reveals a sturdy chassis that, given the purpose of this Blazer, appears surprisingly weather-free. Power meets the pavement through a B&M-dressed Turbo-Hydramatic 350, which rides between a chrome-capped 12-bolt and a proven Dana 40 that's teamed with a tough NP205 transfer case. That drivetrain rolls on a factory frame, which augments a fully rebuilt suspension with lift springs, lift blocks, a Rancho stabilizer and six Rancho shocks. That rigid chassis is guided by power-assisted steering, and stopped by power-assisted disc and drum brakes. Exhaust flows from aluminized pipes to throaty turbo mufflers and polished stainless tips. And at the edges of the floor, 6-lug axles spin locking Warn hubs inside polished Bullet Hole rims and BF Goodrich Radial All-Terrain T/As.
This Chevy started life as a truck that was tougher than most and ended up a head-turning stunner that's now nicer than most. If you're ready to enjoy a serious ute with serious chops, don't miss the chance to claim this awesome K5!
