Chevrolet Chevelle 454 LS6 425 hp 1971

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible When the muscle car era arrived Chevrolet had two powerhouses to offer in its fleet, the Camaro and then the legendary Chevelle.  Produced from 1964 to 1978 the Chevelle has continued to be a popular collector vehicle to own and spanned 3 generations with multiple redesigns throughout.  The second gen cars were produced from 1968 to 1972 but despite belonging to the same grouping in 1971 it was unveiled with a new front and rear styling which included redesigned lighting and a new style of grill.  The late 60's influence are there but the redesigns really changed it up.  This car underwent a complete frame off restoration with only 5,509 miles on it since completed.  So it still has a very fresh, just completed appearance.  The body is very solid with no rust issues.  It is painted in a very nice Cranberry Red paint (code #75) with dual Black racing stripes paired with a Black power top.  The car has all of its original style chrome, stainless and SS badges which have a nice shine.  It has its original Cowl Induction hood with working cowl and chrome safety tie downs.  Whether the car is sitting still or roaring down the road it has an awesome look.  It sits on a set of 15x7 inch Gray mag wheels which were previously only used on the Camaro Z-28.  They are wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires that have plenty of life left. The legendary awe-inspiring LS6 454 solid lifter engine was no longer available in '71 however Chevrolet did offer a hydraulic lifter version.  That being said there is no evidence of the LS6 ever being installed in a '71 Chevelle from the factory.  During the restoration of this car its original LS5 was swapped out with a period correct LS6 425hp motor creating "The Chevelle that never was!"  How cool is that?  The engine compartment has a very factory looking appearance with Black inner fenders, Chevrolet Orange painted block/heads, chrome valve covers and 454 air cleaner.  The engine runs great and delivers a great sound.  The motor is paired with a M22 Muncie 4 speed manual transmission to send power back to the 12 bolt rear end.  The car was nicely optioned out with power steering, power brakes and a dealer installed AC system.  Up front it has Baer disc brakes with ceramic pads.  Other features include the 2 piece steering shaft and F-41 suspension.  Now lets take a look at the numbers... Motor Block #39635512 - 4 Bolt Main with Steel Crank Heads #3994026 (LS6 425HP) Intake #3963569 (LS6 425HP Raised Cyl) Holly Carburetor #4803A Distributor #1112076 (LS6 425HP w/MT OEM) Exhaust Manifolds R-#3989310 L-#3989343 The inside of the car has been redone in the factory correct code #705 Black SS interior with a split bench seat, headrests, and lap belts.  It is in great shape throughout and everything has that factory fresh look.  The dash has all of its original style gauges, AC controls, inset factory vents and even its original AM/FM stereo.  The only modification is a set of auxiliary gauges mounted below the dash for Water Temp and Oil Pressure.  The trunk is nicely finished out and the floors throughout the car are all solid.  It features its original style mat, factory spare and the original jack set up.  It even has its original jack instructions mounted below the deck lid!  This is one cool classic and a beautiful example of the 60s/70s muscle car era.  These Chevelles have a huge fan base and hold their value well.  If you are looking for the next classic to add to your collection this is definitely one to check out.  You couldn't build it for our asking price so pick it up while it is still available. This freshly frame off restored Chevelle could be yours for $62,000.00!
