We love Novas because they have a sleeper style that can still fit serious power under the hood. So it only gets amplified on a cool custom wagon like this 1963 Chevy II Nova. Because beneath the grocery-getter looks is an enhanced V8 and an upgraded rear end.
The metallic teal is a great way to represent this custom classic. It has a radiating element in the sunshine, but with some hints of survivor-like qualities used to make it more of a sleeper. It gives the impression of a classic wagon that someone has driven but cared for correctly. That feeling is reinforced further by the huge shine from the grille, rocker trim, and bumpers. Even the luggage rack looks great. And this cool wagon even leaves a hint at the upgrades within with its American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. They're staggered in diameter as well as quite wide in the rear to give you a terrific stance.
Inside, the dual rows of bench seats are exactly what you expect on a classic wagon. And the rear ones even fold flat to make this quite a practical classic. There's even an AM/FM/CD stereo to keep everyone happy with the best road trip tunes. But more than just useful, you'll love slipping behind the classic stylized steering wheel that even nicely coordinates with the exterior teal. It gives you a clear view of the classic Moon Eyes auxiliary gauge trio as well as the large AutoMeter Sport-Comp tach. It signals to your senses that this is a driver's wagon.
When you lift the hood, you can instantly see the investment in the 283 cubic-inch V8. The freshly painted bold block, intake, and valve covers look terrific radiating from within the clean and dark engine bay. And while this looks quite correct, you should go in for a closer view. There you'll spot subtle upgrades that make all the difference. It includes an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, upgraded pulleys, and upgraded dual exhaust. Plus, there's an aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans to keep it all running cool. So while you have the 1963-correct displacement, there are some terrific upgrades that make this a sleeper-style V8. Plus, as you look in the undercarriage photos, you can see some nice investments in the suspension, including front disc brakes and a reinforced four-link rear with adjustable coilovers. So at this affordable price, this wagon already has a great suspension and leaves plenty in the budget if you want to drop in even more power! You even already have a racer-friendly Powerglide transmission.
