Allgemeine Beschreibung : A concourse condition 1963 Daimler SP250 Dart is now available. It recently has been the subject of a complete body-off restoration by a well-known Dutch specialist. Really nothing was omitted during the restoration, even the underbody has been powder-coated. The sublime bodywork is as straight as an arrow and the body panels fit snuggly. The chrome work is splendid. The engine has been overhauled by a well-known Dutch Jaguar specialist and is as good as new. The divine 2.5 V8 is mechanically sound and in perfect working order and of course this is the original, matching numbers, engine. The thorough overhaul included the rear axle, the differential, suspension, brakes as well as attention to the cars` interior. The whole restoration process has been documented with many photo`s. The linen red claret soft-top matches the leather trim perfectly and compliments the fantastic Gun Metal Grey finish. It also has 72-spoke chrome wire wheels, wooden dashboard, stainless steel exhaust system and a Halda tripmaster. Since its restoration the car has only done an additional 2,814 km. Daimler war ein unabhängiger britischer Hersteller von in London von HJ Lawson im Jahre 1896 gegründet, um den Namen, den sie das Recht auf die Verwendung des Namens Daimler gleichzeitig von Gottlieb Daimler und Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft gekauft sichern Kraftfahrzeugen.

Großbritanniens ältester Autohersteller wurde von der Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA) im Jahr 1910 nach zahlreichen Eigentumsverhältnisse gekauft.

Unter BSA Ära produzierten sie einige der verrücktesten Luxus-Autos wie eine niedrige Chassis-Daimler Doppel-Sechs 50PS, Nutzfahrzeuge und Militärfahrzeuge und Panzer Inklusive einem Vier-Rad-Antrieb Spähpanzer, der den Spitznamen Dingo (WWII).

Bedeutendste Errungenschaft der Nachkriegs Daimler kam in Form von so genannten Turner-Motoren, wenn Ed Turner, Leiter der Automotive-Sparte, entwarf eine Reihe von leichten Hemi Kopf Daimler 2,5 & 4,5 Liter V8 Motoren.

Im Mai 1960 wurde das Geschäft von Daimler BSA von Jaguar, die für die Fertigungsanlagen suchen erworben wurde. Dies führte schließlich zu Daimler immer nur ein Abzeichen entwickelt Jaguar geführt.

Die wirkliche Tragödie ist, dass Jaguar complitely versäumt, das Potenzial der Turner-Hemi-Motoren zu verwenden, dass in allen Ernest überlegen waren Jaguar XK-Design. Stellen Sie sich vor, wenn der E-Type war mit dem 4,5-V8-Leichtmetall 1961, was für eine Rakete, die gemacht hätte eingeführt worden!
