LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona

To make up for the previous Charger 500 shortcomings on the racetracks Dodge went back to the drawing board and in return they created the Charger Daytona. Created to be a high performance limited production vehicle it had several changes made to be as competitive at possible. Straight away onlookers notice the twenty-three inch tall rear spoiler and front sheet metal nose cone. With its appearance being a mixed bag of opinions amongst the public no one could argue about the vehicle's performance. Being the first car to top 200mph on the NASCAR ovals it was a serious competitor and as a result took home clear-cut victories. Only 543 Charger Daytona’s would be produced, just enough to satisfy NASCAR’s limit of 500 production cars. Also making the Daytona far more rare than it’s Plymouth cousin, the 1970 Superbird.

This particular 1969 Charger Daytona was sold new by White Bear Dodge on 8/31/70 and is the only one known to come factory painted in Y2 Yellow exterior with C6T Tan interior. It was later repainted to Orange by its original owners while retaining the factory interior. This Daytona is powered by its numbers matching 440 CI 4 bbl engine and numbers matching Torqueflite automatic transmission. Other options to be found on the vehicle include; power front disc brakes, Tan vinyl bucket seats, console, Torque Flight transmission coupled with the A32 code Super Performance Pack which consisted of a Dana 60 Posi rear axle, HEMI suspension and a high-performance radiator for improved cooling. This car has had a complete visual inspection by Mopar specialist Galen Govier to verify its originality. To further document the car is the original Broadcast sheet, complete fender tag breakdown, Owner’s Manual, and Warranty Booklet complete with original owner's information. We even have a picture from when the original owner had purchased the car new in 1970.

When new, most of the public was at odds with the Daytona and its styling to the extent that many sat on dealer lots of years after its release with some even being converted back to standard Chargers. It is thanks to this initial lack of interest, limited production run, incredible performance pedigree and uniqueness that make Daytona’s a very rare and sought after classic American icon. It is a unique opportunity to purchase a very are and highly sought after Mopar muscle car, complete with owner history, full factory documentation, number matching drivetrain, physical inspection by Galen Govier and the only one known produced.
