Ah yes, the story of the Demon is one that has been discussed in many automotive circles as it transformed the image of the revered Dodge Dart. Advertised as a performance car, the Demon appealed to the youth market and joined forces with its Chrysler cousin, the Plymouth Duster, in going up against the similar rival manufacturer vehicles. Dodge continued to produce these potent A-bodies up until 1973, after religious groups protested the name and brand resulting in the renaming of the car as the Dodge Dart Sport. This second year offering of the Demon is bold in appearance, wearing bright Blue paint and a black hood scoop. Take note of the neat badging including the infamous pitchfork. Under the hood is a big thomping 440 cubic inch V8, arguably the best motor one could drop into a Mopar. Power is sent through a recently rebuilt 727 Automatic and is put to the pavement by a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears. Imagine how this Demon can get up and go! The low production number of Dodge Demons makes these cars quite collectible and you are sure to be the center of attention on the road, shows and cruises.
