This 1964 Excalibur phaeton replica has a lot going for it. After all, it has some of the same lines you love in the Mercedes SSK and Excalibur cars. Plus, it's already got small block power under the hood. And as you look over the whole vehicle you realize it has that distinctive look you love and components that are shade tree mechanic easy to maintain.
This car looks elegant in blue. The paint does show its age, but it's hard to deny the overall attraction of such intricate style. That's why the best details already in place. Wire wheels, whitewall tires, faux exhaust pipes, and a wood and chrome trunk carrier on the rear are all pure vintage elegance. The swoopy front fenders have a full-size spare embedded in each one. And the color of the tire covers coordinate with both the folding roof and the convertible boot cover. So you have a thoughtful and coordinated look with the roof on or off.
There are other SSK replicas out there that are based on Volkswagen chassis. That's fine for some, but the interior especially shows the advantage of something longer and more luxurious. There are plush full bucket seats up front and plenty of legroom. The rear seat even has a usable amount of space when more friends and family want to go for a ride. There is certainly room for improvement, but that's what the value price is for. You can see this as a unique machine that leaves room in your budget so you can improve and upgrade with your own personal style. Under the hood is another advantage of this car. It's closer to an Excalibur than many of the other SSK replicas out there because it gives you proper Chevy V8 power under the hood. So we bet you're thinking about all the power upgrades that can be done here. And this one is built to take real Chevy power. That's why you have a powerglide automatic transmission and the kind of rear end you'd find on a '64 Impala. You've even got power steering and power brake for an easy driving experience.
