1961 Fiat OSCA 1500 ‘S’ Spider Coachwork By Pininfarina For Sale In London (LHD)

75 hp, 1,491 cc DOHC four-cylinder engine, twin Weber DLS2 carburetors, independent front suspension with coil and wishbone, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 92.1 in.

In 1959-1966, the Fiat 1500S and 1600S Spiders brought together 3 iconic Italian manufacturer and designs that produced breathtaking results. At first, the company had manufactured a Spider Roadster in 1955, resulting in a body that included an upright dogleg windshield and a Cadillac rear fender chrome, which was received only marginally. Fiat contracted Maserati to manufacture the absolutely outstanding MT4 racing engine, bringing the new car performance to match its beautiful looks.

Initially, Fiat had credited Pininfarina for the design, but after denying the attribution, offered to produce something more suitable. Astonishingly, the result was a remarkable redesign that visually matched a smaller version of the Ferrari 250 PF Cabriolet with a twin-cam 1,500-cubic centimetre version giving the new car an upgraded 100 mph performance.

Finished in the ultra-stylish Azzuro Blue coachwork with Burgundy Red and Nero Black soft top. Sitting on steel pressed road wheels with correct gleaming chrome wheel trims and four-period Verstein tyres. Delivered new in left-hand drive form and first registered in France 1961, the Osca was sold by its very first owner and remained in the same single ownership for the next 48 years residing in the Cote Azure. By 2012 the car had passed on to its next owner where it was at this point it underwent a sympathetic restoration.

Since the restoration was complete the Osca has had little use and will not disappoint upon viewing. This striking Fiat Oscar 1500 ‘S’ Spider ready awaiting its new owner to drive and enjoy.
