Ford F-100 360 V8 1968

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Description
Don't look now, but these handsome "Bumpside" Ford F-Series pickups like this 1968 Ford F-100 are becoming legitimate collectors' items today. We can't seem to keep them in stock, and while it took a while for them to catch up to their Chevy competition, they represent a great way to get some vintage iron for not a lot of cash. With a hot red paint job, powerful 360 V8 under the hood, and a comfortable A/C interior, this F-100 is ready to hit the road in style.
Of course, the biggest problem with collecting old pickups is finding the clean ones. You know, the ones that haven't been beaten, used to push a snowplow, or just ignored while tools beat up their beds. Fortunately, this F-100 seems to have been treated very well for most of its life, so the bodywork is in very good order and it doesn't feel used up at all. The classic Bright Red paint job is punctuated with some sparkling metallic flake and looks to have been completed recently, recalling the glory days of early working-class pickups that were also used on Saturday nights to cruise down Main Street. This particular beauty has a vintage presence about it that makes it look right at home out by the barn, or pulling into a local car show. It was repainted as an above-average driver, so it's not a perfect show piece, but it still shows incredibly well and a professional cut-and-buff might even elevate it to the regional show circuit. The front grille is straight and shiny and a replacement piece that fits perfectly, the bumpers and brightwork are new pieces, and the tailgate insert looks to be brand new as well, so the truck has a very all-together look and feel thanks to the large investment made on all the shiny stuff. And speaking of the tailgate, the bed is in great shape with a protective black spray-in bedliner to let you know it doesn't mind working to earn its keep.
Working class accommodations don't have to be crude, and the interior was finished back to stock, highlighted by the comfortable bench seat. Today it's protected by a traditional gray cloth-and-vinyl seat cover that gives it a familiar look and is actually rather comfortable and supportive. Fresh black carpets on the floor class things up a bit and that handsomely painted OEM steering wheel really dresses things up inside. The gauges offer an array of instruments to watch the engine, all surrounded in a stylish bright metal bezel, and a black pad protects the red dash, which also happens to match the factory metal doors and inserts. The original AM/FM radio is long gone, swapped in favor of the Retro-Sound AM/FM unit that's in the dash now, and an under-dash A/C unit was added during the restoration, so the climate can be regulated a little better inside the cabin.
Ford trucks got their own line of engines, with the 360 cubic inch V8 in this one being a very popular choice. With signs of a rebuild and maintenance throughout, the engine has lots of good power and torque and runs incredibly smooth, ready to take on any road trip you throw in front of it. It's also quite neatly dressed, with a correct Ford Blue air cleaner adorned with a proper '360' decal, along with matching Ford Blue valve covers, just like you'd see in 1968. The motor fires to life with ease and runs incredibly well, and both power steering and power front disc brakes are part of the package, so you can drive this truck daily if you feel like it but it'll be hard to keep your foot off the loud pedal once you feel all that torque. Handling all that power is a smooth-shifting 4-speed manual transmission, a big upgrade over the original 3-speed manual this truck was born with, and the soundtrack is provided via a Flowmaster dual exhaust system that sounds fantastic. It has just the right stance to look sporty, which is surely enhanced by the slick Legend Series chrome wheels wearing 235/70/15 blackwall radials.
The market has definitely noticed these trucks, and this Bright Red beauty is about as nice as they come. Call today!
