You just don't see trucks like this anymore. 1979 was the last, and arguably, the best year for this generation of the F-150 pickup. The original blue colors have been given a nice upgrade to a glossy clear coat medium blue. That way this can respect its history while still turning heads today. Plus, the white stripe package looks timelessly cool. While this one is a true American classic, right down to the chrome bumpers, this truck still has a lot of practical daily use left in it. In fact, look at the liner paint in the bed, wide tow mirrors, and trailer hitch on the rear... This is the cool classic that's ready for work or play.
Open the door, and you're immediately greeted by the blue and white theme continued on the door panels. As you grab this Ford's factory dual spoke steering wheel and gaze across the dash, you'll see a ton of originality across the interior. But despite the cool vintage appeal, this one once again shows off its practical side with subtle upgrades like the comfortable cloth bench seat and auxiliary gauge package.
The engine bay is just as honest as the rest of the truck. This one came from the factory with a big 351 cubic-inch V8 with dual-barrel carburetor. And that's what's still under the hood today – so we're inclined to believe this is the original setup. After all, everything looks correct inside here, right down to the jack is still mounted in its original strap. This mighty V8 is still ready to be a workhorse. When you combine the torque-filled motor with the strong two-speed 4x4 transfer case, tall stance, and BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, you know that the fun begins where the road ends. But even when it's just time to make a hardware store run, the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes are all handy features for everyday use.
