Ford Model A 2-Door Sedan 350 CI 1929

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Description
This beautifully crafted 1929 Ford Model A 2-Door sedan has a wonderful timeless look, offering period colors and clean lines, solid construction, and a powertrain/chassis combination that was built for comfort. It's a fully-sorted rod that's ready to hit the road and look great while doing it, with a perfect stance, nice paint, and a comfortable fresh interior that is perhaps the ideal combination of practicality and style.
More stylish than a four-door sedan and more comfortable than a business coupe, the Tudor was Ford's bread-and-butter car that seemed to do it all. Rendered in a very attractive shade of Light Beige offset with Light Brown fenders and running boards, it takes very little liberties with the original Blue Oval design, and yes Ford fans, that's 100% Henry steel on the body with swooping fiberglass fenders and matching running boards that were subtly tweaked to work with the fat tires and modernized stance, then covered with era-correct Light Brown paint that makes this Ford really stand out on the show field among all the brightly-colored streetrods. Great attention to detail shows all over this car, and despite the relatively fresh driver-quality finish, it's subtle in its modifications, sporting only those aftermarket alloys, a relocated gas filler cap, and a set of blue dot teardrop taillight lenses as modifications that catch the eye. Even the King Bee style headlights and door handles survived the transformation intact, and all the stainless and chrome still looks great with a vintage shine. The black vinyl top insert is in excellent condition, and the brown windshield visor is yet another Pre-War attribute that was left on this Tudor, so the old-school look is very authentic.
In 1929, the Tudor came standard with bucket seats, although the chairs in place today are a bit more modern. Sure, they're a little plusher and a little more comfortable for cross-country hauls, but they look right in the stylish 2-door body. Light Tan upholstery is the right choice, since you don't want to compete with the paint, and the durable materials still look great. The plush cloth pleats on the seats and door panels is nicely done and has an inviting look that does seem right for the upright little sedan. The original Model A instrument panel is still in place in the center of the dash, although only the odometer is original, as an aftermarket set of AutoMeter gauges now keep an eye on the engine up ahead. An auxiliary gauge and 12-Volt port were added to a panel below the dash, and a newer fat-rimmed steering wheel atop a late-model steering column add more room for the driver. Plush carpets insulate the cabin from road noise, and the full-sized back seat means that this is a legitimate 4-passenger hot rod. Climb in and discover how easy it is to get comfortable.
This A has more than a few tricks up its sleeves, too. The engine is a 305 cubic inch V8 topped by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake manifold, a combination that was perfected decades ago so you can hit the road without worries. Packaging is tight in the Model A's engine bay, but thanks to careful fabrication, everything fits under the stock hood and stays cool thanks to a massive radiator and electric fan. A few chrome dress-up items, plus those finned Moroso valve covers, give it a clean underhood look at shows and the wiring is all upgraded and running through a modern alternator. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission spinning a 10-bolt rear end out back, and the soundtrack sounds great thanks to a set of block-hugging long-tube headers that feed into a Dynomax dual exhaust system below. Up front there's a Corvair-style independent setup with power rack-and-pinion steering, there's a set of coilovers out back, and power 4-wheel disc brakes give it massive stopping power for such a lightweight vehicle. Wheels are turbine-style Lincoln Versailles and wear 225/60/16 blackwall radials to finish off the look perfectly.
A classic Pre-War Ford with a few twists under its skin and a very reasonable price, what's not to love about this awesome Model A? Call today!
