Ford Model A Pick Up 1929

Allgemeine Beschreibung : At RK Motors, we sell cool. If it has a motor and tires, you can probably find it in either our current inventory or our past inventory. When it comes to cool, it doesn't get much better than a well done hot rod. And when it comes to well done hot rods, it doesn't get much sweeter than this exceptional Ford Model A!
'The whole is greater than the sum of the parts', a quote often attributed to Aristotle, can be stated about any top notch classic. But it seems like an especially fitting relation for this world class pickup. Sure, the truck IS the product of a ground-up professional build that mixes unique customization with upgraded structure. Naturally, its carefully tailored small block makes much more power than the factory ever imagined. And yes, this Ford would certainly fare well at any show. But as a prospective buyer, you're getting so much more than parts, time and the potential for trophies. You're getting a truly one-of-a-kind custom that will consistently reward you with a unique driving experience every time you open the garage door. And that, our friends, is the WHOLE experience!
THE REAL DEAL
The product of a ground-up, professional build that left no bolt unturned, this choice classic is constructed on clean Henry Ford steel that, for the most part, remains 100% true to how the factory stamped it. That completely unmolested profile has been lovingly massaged by renowned custom car builder John Schiess. Recognize that name from media and buff books? If not, just know two things: 1) John is a celebrity fabricator and builder who owns and runs Custom Built Machines in Chatsworth, California. And 2) In addition to churning out time-intensive creations like this Model A, John is well-known for perfecting race cars, motorcycles and even specialty boats. All that expertise means this Pickups' gloriously simple metal would give any national award winning hot rod a serious run for its money. And since a profile that nice deserves to be seen and celebrated, it wears velvety Ford Washington Blue single-stage that was sprayed by Dan Henson or, as those of us in the custom car world know him, 'Dan Gogh' of Chatsworth, California's Dan Gogh Master Refinishing.
Envisioned as a personal vehicle for John Schiess and, subsequently, a company showcase vehicle for Custom Built Machines, this Ford is a high quality take on a traditional-style hot rod. The truck's fully stripped and fully refinished form kicks off with chrome-trimmed Ford headlights that point modern, dual-mode bulbs above a dropped support and a custom spreader bar. An original, 'Ford' branded grille shell leads a louvered Model A hood, which reflects a polished fuel cap, a polished radiator cap and a tilting windshield that's tucked under a custom visor. That visor leads pliable Long Grain Vinyl, which shades polished door pulls, a dainty driver's mirror, steel running boards and rolled fenders. The solid Oak bed, like the rest of the truck's wood, has been completely replaced. And at the back of the truck's powder-coated skid strips, a dressed and 'Ford' branded tailgate floats sleeved chains between old school 'stop lamp' taillights.
UNIQUE APPEAL
These days, it's not too often you find a Chevy 265 in any build outside of a factory-spec tri-five, and that's where the appeal of this Ford as an era-correct '50s or '60s hot rod really shines through! Fold the hood and you'll reveal 265 cubic inches of Turbo-Fire small block that was professionally overhauled by the aces at Custom Built Machines. At the top of that delightfully traditional mill, a custom, Bel Air-themed air cleaner weaves wind into four barrels of Super Turbo-Fire-spec Rochester. That carb, wired with stainless lines and a mechanical pump, feeds a Chevy Orange intake and predictable Chevy X58 heads. Those heads tilt Corvette staggered bolt covers above clean Ram's Horn exhaust manifolds. Combustion gets sparked by hot PerTronix ignition, which jolts a points-style distributor and loomed 7mm Hi-Temp Radio Suppression Cables. Pliable V-belts spin a Corvette pulley fan and a 12-volt generator above a cool Hurst motor mount. And cooling is provided by a proven Walker radiator.
NON-TRADITIONAL TREADING
While this Ford might look traditional it is, first and foremost, a world class street rod. That means every inch of its style rolls on thoroughly upgraded hardware that was fabricated from the ground up to combine the best aspects of head-turning aesthetics and proven performance. The foundation for those vastly improved dynamics is a boxed chassis that, naturally, has been fully stripped and layered in sedate Satin Black powder coat. At the center of those bones, a hydraulic clutch kicks a Ford 'World Class' T5 5-speed, which pushes power to a 1950 Mercury axle that's been upfitted with an original Halibrand 'Culver City' Quick Change differential. That drivetrain rides a custom rear-clip that stacks quality Pete & Jakes shocks and polished F1 mounts on '35 Ford radius rods, a '35 Ford torque arm and a relocated reverse eye spring. That clip pushes a custom front-half that stretches a second reverse eye spring and a chrome '32 Ford Mor-Drop axle between '32 Ford spindles, '32 Ford wishbones and polished Pete & Jakes shocks. Turns comes courtesy of an F100 steering box. A dual-reservoir master cylinder charges big brake drums that were borrowed from a 1940 Ford. Large-diameter exhaust is threaded through glasspack-style mufflers and polished stainless tips. And at the corners of the chassis, Crème Brule steelies, borrowed from both a '40 Ford and a '50 Merc, spin staggered Firestone bias-ply tires around original stainless trim and De Luxe Ford caps.
SIMPLY STYLISH
Between the doors you'll find a tastefully customized cockpit that, thanks to skilled craftsmanship, lost virtually no space with the addition of the small block Chevy. Front and center, a body-matched dash hangs sporty Stewart Warner telemetry, complete with a GPS speedometer, beneath an original fuel gauge. A requisite bench seat stretches plush Oxblood vinyl between custom, color-keyed side panels. A polished Model A shifter sails a custom knob over a polished E-brake and varnished Oak floors that provide easy access to both the truck's transmission and Optima gel cell battery. And the driver spins a retro Forty Ford steering wheel over a Forty Ford clutch pedal, a Forty Ford brake pedal and a '32 Ford 'spoon' accelerator pedal.
The product of meticulous planning and a lifetime of skill, this exclusive Model A is the perfect hot rod for any enthusiast who wants a top-notch build without spending two years and six figures achieving it. At first glance, this pickup appears to be a basic and simple classic, but unmatched presence, an acute attention to detail and amazing quality grab your attention almost instantly.
