Ford Mustang Pro Touring Convertible LS7 427 V8 1969

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Description
Hundreds of these cars have passed through our showrooms over the years and few can measure up to this incredible 1969 Mustang convertible pro-touring build in Candy Apple Red. This SEMA build has lots of custom tricks added to the original design and is powered by a thumping fuel-injected 427 V8 LS7 that's mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, and features an incredibly cool race-inspired interior that looks like it belongs in an imported exotic. If you're wondering if it looks as awesome in person as it does in our pictures, let me be the first to tell you that it doesn't. It looks even better.
The goal was to build a car that would stop people in their tracks, and this droptop absolutely nails it. Candy Apple Red Metallic paint was planned from the beginning, so all the sheetmetal was massaged and smoothed to be worthy of the lustrous 2-stage urethane finish that leaves nothing to the imagination. Body mods include fenders seamlessly swapped-in from a 1970 Mustang that give the a car more muscular prowess, dual exhaust that exits from the side of the body for a killer look, and a roll bar stiffens the body and lets everyone this thing is ready to eat up corners and spit them out. Up front there's a carbon fiber chin spoiler, custom lower grille inserts, and a shiny 1-piece chrome bumper, there's a modest front ridge on the hood, and in back, a subtle integrated spoiler and chrome bumper provide a stylish bookend to the overall look. The Mustang DNA is unmistakable, but the workmanship that went into the build is nothing short of amazing. Badges were shaved in favor of a carbon fiber-style 'ghost' C-stripe on the profile and hood, with 'AKR 427' insignia on the front fenders to match the badge on the grille. There's also brand new LED lighting everywhere on the car, including the Shelby-style fog lights up front. Wow!
The interior is equally astounding, lined in black leather with red stitching that offers a passing nod to the original but steps it up by several orders of magnitude. Stitched together with no expense spared, the leather wraps around well-bolstered Recaro bucket seats that feature custom suede inserts, along with the custom door panels and dash pad, making this vintage pony feel a lot less, well, vintage. The original dash was complete reworked with carbon fiber inlays, along with custom toggles, witches and a full IQ3 racing gauge pack that carefully monitors the violence underneath the hood. There are custom touches everywhere your fingers go, from the leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel to the custom door panels and lower dash, and even the upholstered roll bar set-up behind the seats. You've already noticed the floor pans by now as well, which are aluminum pieces that significantly cut down on weight and work in tune with the custom frame/suspension set-up that keeps this droptop together. That 8-ball topped Hurst shifter is linked to a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox, and the options list rounds out with power windows, a tilt wheel, and a modern R134a A/C system. Even the trunk is finished more like a Porsche GT3 than a lowly Ford, with a view of the custom Waterman Racing fuel cell and hidden Optima battery; heck, even the fuel filler neck is a custom piece!
But the hardware is the real star of this show. The engine is an incredibly powerful, fuel-injected 427 LS V8 that's fortified for combat. Installed so neatly it almost looks like it's what the car was born with, it features mostly factory LS hardware that makes it bulletproof reliable and very torquey around town. A custom carbon fiber intake snorkel looks trick and the entire engine bay was engineered with a custom firewall and inner fenders. With factory-like precision, it starts instantly and idles with an intimidating lope, and there are bottomless reserves of horsepower and torque that make this convertible legitimately quick. The Tremec 6-speed manual transmission was installed with a triple-disc racing clutch and gives this vintage pony a very up-to-date feel that manages all that power wonderfully. With a completely bespoke suspension and fortified custom frame, the handling is absolutely insane, and upgrades like a modern power rack-and-pinion steering, adjustable coilovers, and modern Baer power 4-wheel disc brakes, the driving experience is exceptional. With block-hugging ceramic-coated headers feeding into a custom Magnaflow dual exhaust system, you'll have no problems getting attention around town. Finishing the killer look, this droptop is stanced on a set of staggered LG Motorsports World Challenge wheels with grippy 235/35/18 front and 325/30/19 rear Michelin performance radials.
This is a seriously impressive car in every sense of the word. Fast, comfortable, and downright gorgeous to look at, it's the resto-mod, pro-touring convertible Mustang that can do it all. Call now!
