The muscle car era was beginning its downfall in 1971, but that also created the conditions for a very special machine. The Boss 302 program had come to an end without the Trans Am series support, but Ford wanted to still flex its muscle one last time. They created a true race-ready small block package called the Boss 351, and this is one of the 1,806 that was ever produced. This was built to be a genuinely hot machine, and so it's the true one to deliver on the '71 car's longer and sportier style. The extra-long hood, blocky front end, and sleek Sportsroof style made this look like it wanted to own the road... and the Boss 351 was truly up for the task. After all, the locking pins and Ram Air scoops on the hood are for more than just show. This example was given a comprehensive restoration, and so the factory-correct Light Pewter Metallic has a terrific glow that highlights the crisp panels every time the sunlight hits the sheetmetal. And this color also has a slightly darker tone that goes nicely with the blackout hood, full-length hockey stick stripe, black lower rockers, front air dam, special Boss 351 decals, and full-width rear spoiler. It's a total package that really has an eye for detail, right down to the Mag 500 wheels with pony center cap and wide oval tires.
Inside is a highly correct interior where you can instantly tell they invested heavily to give it a time capsule-like presentation. That means the crisp door panels with wood-like inserts, and the high back bucket seats are complete down to the knit-style inserts and silver stripes. In fact, as you look at the full engine bay, you can tell special attention was paid during restoration to keep this all looking quite correct with decals and factory simulated markings. It even continues with the undercarriage with an exceptionally fresh appearance and the correct red oxide paint. Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Ford und Lola erstellt den mächtigen Ford GT40, die absolut zu schlagen Ferrari in Le Mans 24 mehrfach.

In Europa führte Ford einige der epischen Rennen und Rallye-Autos der 60er Jahre auf der Grundlage bescheidenen Familie Limousinen; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam und Escort 1600RS mit den ikonischen Cosworth BDA Motoren.
