Here we have a 1978 Mercury Marquis for sale. This is a gorgeous survivor car that's showing just over 10K original miles that are believed to be original. Don't miss out on this extremely clean classic that you could cruise or show anywhere! The body on it is as clean as you will ever find. Down the sides all the panels line up near perfectly with excellent fit and all the gaps are even and symmetrical. This is a four door Mercury, and all four doors open and close with ease and a gorgeous fit. The body is covered in the original Dove Gray paint that still has gorgeous luster. It does an excellent job of showcasing the laser straight body. You'll notice it's accented by the factory Gray Vinyl Top. It also has the red pin stripe that's painted on and compliments the color scheme perfectly. Every piece of glass in this Marquis is stunning with no signs of abuse or damage. We can also see that all the moldings are beautiful. Both front and rear bumpers are equally impressive and have a brilliant shine as well. To finish off the looks it's sitting on the factory 15” wheels with original hubcaps and a set of Goodyear White Line Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this '78. On the inside you're sure to be impressed as everything looks to be as close to original as you could ask for. It's done in the red color scheme that provides the perfect compliment to the exterior color combo. Up front it has the split bench seat that's done in cloth and out back it has the standard bench. All the door panels are in excellent condition and have the standard crank windows that go up and down with ease along with having the wood grain accents. Looking at the dash we can see that it's also in remarkable condition with no breaking or cracking of the dash pad. It also has the wood grain accents that are beautiful. All the gauges are in great condition as well and we can see it has h the factory radio, air controls, and steering wheel. Inside the trunk is all solid with everything being correct. It still has the factory jack and spare along with the trunk liner!
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Mercury. Under the hood it follows suite along with the rest of the car as it looks to be as close to original as we've ever seen. The hood insulation is missing a couple of pieces but we wanted to leave this beauty as close to original as we could. For power it's got the 6.6L 400 Cleveland engine that's dressed like it would have been from the factory. It has the original air cleaner and valve covers. It's mated to the Automatic Transmission with the column shift and the factory Rear Wheel Drive rear end. It comes set up with Power Steering and Power Brakes with disc on the front and Drums out back. For exhaust it has the factory manifolds with single and pipe and factory style muffler. Underneath it everything is clean as a pin as the floors are all rock solid with no signs of damage or abuse. The frame is equally impressive.
