Plymouth Barracuda 1966

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S Tribute You have just stumbled across one of the coolest muscle cars out there.  You don't see a lot of the mid 60's Barracudas but when they pull into the car show they always draw a crowd.  This 1966 Barracuda S in particular has no problem grabbing attention with its slick paint, load rumble and of course the tall carbs sticking out of the hood.  The car was built for the street but a lot of features were incorporated to give it that weekend racer look.  The Honda Sunset Pearl Orange paint shines beautifully in the sun and has a great finish.  The bumpers have been powder coated which makes them extremely easy to keep clean and were done to resemble fiberglass bumpers like the lightweight dragsters.  Up front, 1966 lighter Valiant grills were put into place and frame the headlights nicely.  Chrome hood pins were added to the hood and the car has all of the factory style Barracuda S emblems.  A reproduction metal Hurst emblem was also added to the rear of the car.  Whether its sitting still or cruising down the road the car has an extremely tough appearance.  The stance looks great and the ET front wheels allow just enough room to see the headers through the fender wells.  Centerline wheels are found in back and all are wrapped with BF Goodrich tires.  Powering the car is a rebuilt 360 small block V8 that puts out plenty of power.  The car has plenty of torque to impress at low speeds while comfortably cruising at 70 down the highway.  The engine compartment has a really clean look and was finished out nicely.  Billet valve covers sit to each side of the Offenhauser tunnel ram which raises the dual Holley 600 carbs and air cleaners just the right amount through the hood.  They don't impact your vision while driving and sure do make for a cool look.  Other drivetrain components include the Comp Cams Mother Thumper cam, Hedman headers, Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, three core radiator, electric pusher fan, electronic ignition and more.  Backing up the motor is a rebuilt 833-A 4 speed transmission with Mcleod clutch.  This transfers power back through the driveshaft into the 8 3/4 differential rear end with 3.23 gears.  1972 Duster leaf springs were added to the car as well as U joint girdles, an adjustable Mopar pinion snubber and Adjustable torque strap on the engine.  Wilwood disc brakes are in place up front which are paired with a dual master brake cylinder.    Some of the factory 66 Barracuda options were also put into place by the original owner which include the 577 code tachometer, 537 left hand remote mirror, 534 day/night rear view mirror, 416 heater delete and 150 MPH speedometer. The interior of the car is done in Black upholstery which shows virtually no signs of wear and tear.  The dash has a clean look as well and all of the gauges, knobs, switches, etc work properly.  An aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM/CD player was added and delivers a great sound.  A white Hurst shifter is mounted to the floorboard and moves through the gears with ease.  This classic is one of those that grabs your attention and never wants to let go.  It is a very fun car to show and would make a great addition to any collection.  This car has been SOLD!
