Now for sale at Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is this sleek 1999 Plymouth Prowler. Between the eye catching paint job and the peppy engine, this car is definitely something you don't see every day. Under the pointed hood of this sweet ride is a 3.5-liter DOHC V-6 engine that runs well and provides plenty of power for this small, agile car. Although this engine only puts out around 250 horsepower, the car is quick thanks to a curb weight under 2,900 pounds. There are few V-6 engines that sound very good, but this one sounds great! Sending the power to the rear end is a four-speed automatic transmission that shifts smooth, yet firmly through the gears to provide an engaging driving experience. Overall, the powertrain of this car feels solid and does much more with its power than one might expect. Moving inward, the driver will be greeted by a black leather interior that's pretty clean and in good condition. The seats are comfortable and provide good support for cornering and aggressive driving. In the summer time the driver will appreciate the convertible soft top that functions properly without binding. If the driver decides to keep the top up, the cabin will be kept comfortable thanks to air conditioning that blows cold. In the wintertime, the driver will appreciate the heat. This car also has convenience features including a radio/CD player, cruise control, power locks, tilt wheel, keyless entry, power mirrors, and an anti-theft system. Overall, the interior is comfortable, but can get cramped for anyone over 6'1". Moving outward, the exterior is finished in a custom two-tone burnt orange/ silver paint-job with ghosted orange flames using DuPont paint products. The pain is in decent condition with some imperfection, but nothing too major. The soft top is in good condition. The car sits atop chrome alloy wheels wrapped in rubber with decent tread life left. Overall, the car is in pretty good shape and drives well.
