Plymouth Roadrunner 383 V8 1968

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 1968 Plymouth Road Runner Rotissere Restored Matching #s 383 4 Speed 3.23 Gear
Up for sale we have a 1968 Plymouth RoadRunner. This car has undergone a Rotisserie Resto about 10 years ago and was kept in a private collection until we purchased it. It features the Matching Numbers 383 and was restored back to the factory color combos. Everything is covered in the Monotone Burgundy Metallic Paint that's accented by the White Vinyl Top. The paint has a deep rich shine that has been buffed and polished to a mirror finish. The panels are laser straight with an excellent fit. At the time of the resto all the chrome was either polished to a like new condition or replaced. The glass all looks great with new seals and weather stripping having been installed. To finish off the look it's sitting on a set of 14x7 Rallyes with 215/75/14 Red line Tires.
On the inside, it's also done in the factory white on red color scheme. The first thing you notice when you open the door is the door panels and seats are done in white. This car is kept to its factory specs with the split bench seat up front. To complement the white the headliner, carpet, & dash are done in burgundy along with the metal being painted body color. You can see this RoadRunner has the factory style gauges with the working Tach and Speedo. Also, this is a four-speed car with the correct Hurst Shifter, Knob, and Boot. In the trunk, the metal looks phenomenal and is painted body color. It comes with the trunk mat, spare, and jack.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Plymouth. At first glance you can see that under the hood it has been very well preserved and looks every bit as good as the rest of the car. The power comes from the Matching Numbers 383 engine. This beauty also has the correct date code Four Speed Trans and 8 ¾” Sure Grip Rear End with a 3.23 gear. The 383 has the correct Intake as well. The carb has been changed to a 600 Edelbrock, but we have the correct carb to go with it. It comes with Manual Brakes and Steering. For exhaust, it has stock manifolds and dual pipes with the stocky style mufflers and factory tips. When you look under this RoadRunner it looks amazing. Having been rotisserie restored it has the body color painted floors that are detailed with the correct markings on the pans and rear end.

History of the Plymouth Road Runner
The Plymouth Road Runner first appeared on the scene in 1968. By this time, the original muscle car was moving away from the former trends of cheap and fast and moving towards more features and larger price tags. Despite its high power, the it was budget-friendly and boasted a powerful engine. The Road Runner was competitive on the market as a lower priced, basic trim model of the Plymouth GTX. The Road Runner was such an instant hit, it wasn't long before Dodge answered with the Super Bee less than a model year after the Road Runner's introduction.
As the name might make you think, Plymouth paid a pretty price to Warner Bros. to use the Road Runner name and likeness from their popular cartoon featuring Wile E. Coyote - they even took inspiration from the cartoon to develop the sound for the car's horn. Plymouth expected to sell about 20,000 units of the Road Runner Model; actual sales numbered around 45,000. This placed the Road Runner third in sales among muscle cars with only the Pontiac GTO and Chevy's SS-396 Chevelle outselling it.
