Truly Extraordinary 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible
The next amazing classic up for grabs in our Fairfield showroom is this simply incredible 1967 Pontiac GTO  Convertible with Cameo Ivory exterior paint, a white soft top and a matching white vinyl interior. Never heard of or seen a “triple white” 67 GTO Convertible with Red Fender Inner- liners? Neither did we until today- that’s how incredibly rare this desirable muscle car before you today is. With a whopping 29 factory upgrades plus several more from the dealership, this could easily be the rarest GTO ever produced.
What makes it so special? Let’s start with the dealer installed and upgraded 400/360HP HO with Ram Air, an HD Saf-T-Trac (Posi) rear differential, factory A/C, and a 4-speed manual transmission? While we haven’t taken the motor apart, we believe the motor has been built above the factory spec 360HP. There were only a handful ever made with that configuration (less than 1% of all ’67 GTO’s were convertible with A/C and the fully synchronized 4-speed). It also has power antennae, power steering, front disc brakes, power windows and drivers seat, AM/FM radio, a rear speaker, door edge guards, Rally gauges and tach cluster, Rally I wheels, red fender inner-liners, soft ray glass, a visor vanity mirror and a 3.55 rear end.
Serious collectors know that a ’67 GTO Convertible was hardly ordered with A/C and several of the options listed above, which is why this example is a true unicorn- a 1 of 1. And the story of how it exists is even more exciting.
Full PHS Documentation w/ an Amazing 29 Factory Upgrades
This 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible was special ordered by a high level Pontiac Executive in Sherman Oaks, California and built at the Pontiac Michigan plant on October 10th 1966. Could this have been John DeLorean’s personal GTO? It could explain how unavailable options were pushed through production. While we can’t certify this statement, the current owner did provide full PHS documentation showing exactly what it was from the factory- a triple white ’67 convertible with Factory Red Inner-Liners that should not technically exist. Yet it’s sitting before you today in glorious, like new condition after a very expensive, painstaking, multi-year frame off restoration that restored everything down to the finest of details. We even have a PHS copy of the original window sticker to prove it.
The car has roughly 3000 break in miles on the build. While no example is “perfect”, the muscle car before you today is perhaps the closest we’ve ever seen with truly flawless body lines, exceptional exterior paint and glimmering chrome, glass and trim. The interior is just as impressive with a blemish-free instrument cluster, flawless seating and matching door panels. In the engine compartment, we couldn’t find a single drop of oil or coolant- it literally looks like it just came off the assembly line. Everything we see looks 100% correct down to the finest of details.
In terms of performance, this 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible performs “better than new” thanks to the dealer upgraded 400/360HP HO V8 and the many factory options that aren’t supposed to exist in this configuration. This is a classic that could be driven cross country tomorrow and leave an impression at a few drag strips along the way- it really is that incredible of a vehicle. Honestly, the asking price may be too conservative on this phenomenal one of one roadster- it may be one of the most special examples ever built.
The Rarest, Most Desirable ’67 GTO Convertible Ever Made?!?
Overall, this 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible is one of the most prestigious, sought after examples around and it also happens to be in phenomenal, like-new condition as well.  With fantastic documentation and the fact that it shouldn’t even exist in the first place, we do not expect for this amazing classic muscle car to remain in inventory for long.  Do not wait on this incredible ’67 GTO Roadster- it will be the one you’ll always regret that got away!

Position in GM -Hierarchie:
