1979 Pontiac Trans AM Y84 Special Edition Factory Black Car Matching Numbers
Here we have a 1979 Pontiac Trans AM for sale. This car is a factory Y84 Trans AM Special Edition and is a factory Black Car. It also features the matching numbers Engine and Trans along with Factory AC. The body on it is in excellent condition with some of the best panel and door fit that we've ever seen for a TA. All the gaps are even and symmetrical, and the doors open and close with ease. This car has been repainted in the Base Coat Clear Coat that has been buffed and polished to a deep rich shine. It's done in the Starlite Black which is the factory color for it. It has the Gold Stripes, Trans AM Decals, and the Phoenix decals to accent which are also correct as it is a factory Y84 Special Edition car. This '79 also comes with the T Tops and it still has the storage bags. All the weather stripping around the tops is great along with the door and trunk weather stripping. To finish off the look it's sitting on the correct 15” Wheels with BF Goodrich Radial TA White Letter tires 255/60 on the rear and 245/60 on the front.
Next, we will look at the interior of this '79. On the inside it's done in the Black Cloth which is also the factory option for it. All the seat covers are in excellent condition along with the padding. The door panels are also in great condition and you can see the Power Windows are working as they should. Looking at the dash you'll notice it has the Gold Accents that tie in perfectly to the exterior color combo. The gauges are working as they should and you can also see it has the factory style radio and is a Factory Air Condition car as well. In the trunk it's all solid and has a beautiful detail with the carpet spare and it also has the factory T Top bags for the tops are out.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Pontiac. Under the hood it's powered by the Matching Numbers 403 Engine that is detailed and looks like it would have when new from the factory. It's mated to the Matching Numbers 350 Turbo Trans that goes out back to the 10 Bolt Rear End with around a 2.73 Gear. The 402 engine is set up with the correct Intake and Quadrajet Four Barrel Carb. For exhaust it has manifolds with new dual pips and the Xleartor Mufflers. To go along with the Factory AC it also has Power Steering and Power Brakes with Disc on the front. When you look under it everything appears to be in excellent condition and rock solid. The floor pans all look to be original along with the frame. It also appears to have the stock suspension with the front and rear sway bars.
