Sunbeam Other 1938

Allgemeine Beschreibung : The Sunbeam-Talbot Ten 4-door Sports Saloon was hailed as “Britain's most exclusive Light car". Prices started at a hefty £265! The Ten was considered very luxurious at the time as well as being very light. Our car is a very neat example. This Sunbeam-Talbot Ten was supplied in London in 1938. We still have the British registration book. When it arrived in the Netherlands in 1999 an extensive restoration was needed. Over a period of years the car underwent a full “Nut and Bolt” restoration. The car was completely taken apart. Every piece of paneling, every item, every tube and every nut and bolt, all were inspected and then either restored, replaced or cleaned up. The car therefor has very nice bodywork with straight and correctly aligned panels. The paintwork is of good quality with only a few minor user blemishes. The chassis is totally rust-free and in very condition. A nice exterior is nothing without an accompanying interior and naturally the interior was not overlooked during the restoration. The carpets and upholstery are all in good shape. The car’s mechanical aspects have also been seen to. The engine and gearbox were completely rebuilt during the restoration and are still very good. The driving experience is therefor very pleasant. Rumour has it that only two Sunbeam-Talbot Ten’s remain in the Netherlands. This car can quite rightly be described as being a current classic. This Sunbeam-Talbot Ten comes with an impressive amount of documentation. The files contain i.e. the original V5 document, an original advert, a calender featuring the car, the electric scheme and photos of before and after the restoration. In summary this is a fantastic classic, there to be enjoyed during the summer and then in wintertime to delve into its fantastic history!
