Bentley R type '53 1953

Allmän beskrivning : The Bentley Type R was presented at the 1952 London Motor Show, replacing the MK VI, with the original project name Bentley Mark VII, then Bentley R Type or Bentley Serie R. The name R Type comes from the name of the chassis "RT" developed by the design office of Rolls Royce project manager Ivan Evernden. It retained the front of the Bentley Mark VI, but its trunk was twice as large, It was the last Bentley model to differ from the range of the parent company Rolls Royce, and it competed, in addition to the Rolls, the Lagonda 3 liters, the Jaguar Mk VII, the Delahaye type 235, etc. The Bentley and Bentley R Continental Coupe bodies were designed by Rolls Royce chief designer John P. Blatchley (also designer of previous and subsequent models).
