This 1977 Chevrolet El Camino has the sleek/custom look that instantly announces it's a restomod. And this even has the leather-lined A/C interior that makes it a comfortable upgraded machine. However, what you're really going to love this one for is the twin-turbo fuel-injected stroker V8 that knowS how to blow everyone away.
The fourth-gen El Camino was a handsome machine with headlights that are deeply sculpted into the design for an elegant look. It also gives better definition to the hood and the line that starts in the fenders and runs all the way through the doors. But his one goes further than just what the factory did. The big front bumper was traded for a color-matched form-fitting piece. And there's a similar sleekness to the rear with C4 ZR-1 style taillights, too. We even like how the black tonneau cover coordinates with the black 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. HID headlights, LED taillights, hood pins, and a mesh grille add flair day or night. And the whole custom package is wrapped in a glossy color called Salsa Red, because after all, this El Camino is spicy.
The custom interior is equal parts sporty and elegant. It starts with a pair of two-tone leather bucket seat borrowed from a late-model Chevy, and they even power adjust forward and back. So you know it's easy to get all-day comfortable in these. The rest of the interior is clean and sharp, so it makes for a nice place to spend some time. There are even great upgrades like cold-blowing air conditioning, power windows, power locks, a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with aux input, and an electric rear view mirror with backup camera. There's a nice wood-like trim on the dash, and that's mixed with carbon fiber pieces to remind you this is a sports car, too. The Grant sports steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column, and there's a bright B&M shifter in the console. And with the twist of a key, the full Intellitronix digital gauge package comes to life.
Under the hood is a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8. What that can usually provide enough power for most people, that's just the tip of the performance car iceberg. It's a four-bolt main fully-built package that's fortified and enhanced with Dart 64cc aluminum heads, 9:1 compression, Comp Cams roller cam SK08-466-8, Crane roller rockers, and TPI fuel injection. And the go-fast goodies don't stop there. Dual water-cooled Turbonetics 60 series 64mm turbocharges make this a street-eating twin-turbo machine. There are even TiAL blow-off valves and a CX Racing aluminum heat exchanger. There's a strong GM 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission that feeds a balanced driveshaft on its way to the Richmond ring and pinion 3.70 limited-slip rear end. Add in four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, grippy ZR-rated tires, and sway bar front & rear, and this full custom El Camino is one awesome total package.
