We always love the '70 El Caminos because of the iconic design. There's the muscle car inspired front end with the wide four-round headlight setup. We won't pretend the paint and body are perfect, but that kind of keeps it in-line with a muscle car/truck bruiser attitude you can have with this one. The black interior offers a mixture of correct components and worthwhile upgrades. The upholstery, headliner, and door panels all have a quality look and feel. The wide bench seat has room for up to three people, and behind it there's a surprising amount of room for storage. You get a very car-like setup that also includes comforts like a proper heat/vent controls and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input. Plus, this is a well-done driver setup with a three spoke sports steering wheel, a tilt column, and auxiliary gauge trio. And the column-mounted tach is an especially handy upgrade to go with the Hurst floor shifter.
Under the hood is a hot small block nestled in a tidy engine bay. This is a 350 cubic-inch V8 with a four-bolt main. It has the right upgrades, like aluminum heads, an Edelbrock Performer air gap intake, aluminum valve covers, and topped with Edelbrock AVS four-barrel carburetor. Hedman headers add even more power while letting this V8 exhale with power into the Turbo muffler dual exhaust. It's a quality power package that starts, idles, and drives well. You get full control over it with the smooth shifting four-speed manual transmission. Add power steering and wide BF Goodrich T/As and this is an El Camino that's easy to enjoy.
