We can help with all shipping details as well as delivery to your door.Having had one lady owner from new until 2016, this Delorean has just received a complete overhaul. It has been in California since new and is an original blue plate car. The original owner bought this car new from Galpin Ford (San Fernando Valley) in California in 1984. She even remembered the name of the salesperson who sold her the car - a lady by the name of Becky Mallow. The car was only released to the dealer in 1984 as apparently all Delorean assets were put on-hold for the duration of the factory receivership. The same owner drove this Delorean as her daily driver throughout the 1980's and 1990's and provided a stack of receipts and service records showing the thousands of dollars invested in keeping this car in impeccable condition throughout that period. She 'retired' the car to weekend only use in more recent years but had everything done to bring it back to like new condition. The body is in excellent condition with no dings or damage. Both front and rear fascias are in great condition (front was just repainted recently). The black louvered engine cover is in good condition but with a couple of tiny chips.
Over the past year, the car has undergone a significant refurbishment making it a reliable and highly usable classic.
The following work has been done to the car this year:
1. Full fuel system refurbishment including new fuel pump, new fuel sender, new fuel hoses, new fuel accumulator, new seals in the fuel distributor and a new fuel filter, with non-return fuel line valve added
2. Fluids flushed and replaced: engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid
3. Brake hoses replaced with new braided stainless steel hoses and brake rotors resurfaced
4. New master cylinder
5. New steering column bushing
6. Electrical system examined and tested
7. Front fascia freshly painted and new headlights installed
The price of the car is delivered to port in the USA (FOB - Free on board). We recommend to ship to Holland where you pay 6% VAT and euro 500 in customs and handling charges. You bring for free into most EU countries. All cars listed are currently located in the USA or Canada. Historien om DMC, eller DeLorean Motor Company, är en berättelse om stora förhoppningar, futuristiska visioner och slutligen en hjärtskärande tragedi som satte stopp för allt.I början av 1980-talet grundade John Z. DeLorean, en tidigare chef på General Motors, DeLorean Motor Company och skapade den ikoniska DMC-12, med sin rostfria kaross och karakteristiska falkvingedörrar, som blev hans vision om en revolutionerande sportbil.
DMC-12 såg ut som något ur en science fiction-film, och dess slående design vände huvuden överallt. Det var framtidsbil, en dröm för entusiaster. Men, som vi alla vet, kan drömmar ibland sluta som mardrömmar.
DeLoreans vision var djärv, och hans ambition ännu djärvare. Han hade för avsikt att tillverka bilarna i Nordirland för att skapa arbetstillfällen och ge en skjuts åt den lokala ekonomin. Men projektet mötte talrika utmaningar, inklusive ekonomiska problem, produktionsförseningar och en global ekonomisk nedgång.
Och sedan inträffade tragedin. John DeLorean greps för narkotikasmuggling, en skandal som skulle för alltid fläcka hans namn och hans företags rykte. Även om han senare frikändes hade skadan redan skett.
DeLorean Motor Company hade svårt att återhämta sig från ryktesskadan, och 1983 ansökte de om konkurs. DMC-12, företagets lysande stjärna, skulle aldrig nå sin fulla potential. Produktionen avstannade, och de osålda bilarna samlade damm i lagerlokaler.
Men här kommer vändningen i historien: DMC-12 fick ett andra liv i en liten film kallad "Tillbaka till framtiden". Tidsresande DeLorean, med sina falkvingedörrar och ikoniska utseende, blev en kultikon, kanske till och med mer berömd än bilen själv.
Idag förblir DeLorean DMC-12 ett symbol för outnyttjad potential, en påminnelse om att även de mest futuristiska drömmarna kan kullkastas av den hårda verklighetens värld. Den ljusa framtid som var tänkt för DMC kanske aldrig blev verklighet, men dess plats i historien är säkrad, ett vittnesbörd om drömmars uthålliga kraft och ödets oförutsägbara vändningar.
