Launched at the 1969 Geneva motorshow, the Fiat 130 saloon was to replace the larger 2300. The saloon model was received very well, and in 1971 Fiat exhibited the 130 Coupé, which had a completely new 2-door body with and redesigned interior by Paolo Martin at Pininfarina. Just 4,491 examples were produced, making this a rather interesting proposal.

Hidden beneath its sharp, attention-grabbing lines was a choice of a new overhead-camshaft V6 engine. The new engine was the brainchild of Ferrari’s master engineer, Aurelio Lampredi, the Fiat 130 coupé ticks all of the pedigree boxes with a beautiful Pininfarina design, twinned with a Ferrari developed engine.

Our car has been residing in southern Italy its entire life, living with its one and only keeper. The underside is in a time-warp condition, which is evident of living in kinder climates. Upon a finer inspection, the engine bay is as smart as the underside. The rest of the car has recently been renovated, benefiting from a complete re-trim in opulent Red hide.

This 130 Coupé has the highly regarded 5 speed ZF manual gearbox which is a thrill to used matched up with the 3.6 Lampredi designed V6. This Ferrari engineering makes for an impressive GT with plenty of get up and go, coupled with a fantastic sound too!
