Powering this peppy stallion is a freshly rebuilt 289 CID V8, that's topped by a 4BBL carburetor and a set of finned aluminum valve covers. Transferring the stout 289's power to the 9-inch rear end is a rebuilt C4 Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission. Toss in cold A/C and power steering, and this Mustang is ready for whatever trip you want to take it on, and when you reach your destination, you'll have arrived in comfort and style. Inside, its black Pony interior is gorgeous to look at, and a pleasure to ride in. The sporty buckets up front straddle the shifter and console nicely, while the bench out back begs you to have some friends tag along. What really sets this Mustang apart is the level of detail in the complete nut-and-bolt restoration, completed by Wagner's Classic Cars. With a stack of over 2 inches' worth of receipts for NOS 1066 Mustang parts, and a photo book of the restored project's outcome, you'll know you've found a 1966 Mustang that appears virtually new; and frankly, it's better than it was when it was new. Solid floorpans, new fuel tank, all new suspension (including bushings and all fittings), new front end components, new rear leaf springs, it's virtually all been replaced underneath (and everywhere else, it appears). All of the sheet metal was stripped bare, prepped, and finished, and the attention to detail in the entire project is very evident. Upgrades to the original equipment include a full aluminized dual exhaust system that helps give it a great exhaust note while not being too loud, plus a 4-wheel disc brake package from SSBC. This car stops and goes better than any 1966 Mustang ever did when it was new!
