Ford Roadster 350 cubic inch V8 1932

Allmän beskrivning : Pro-built all-steel 1932 Ford roadster. Titled as a 1932 Ford. 350 Chevrolet power, 700R4 4-speed automatic, disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering. Traditional build with all-new components. Beautiful new interior, removable top. A cool rod built just the way you’d do it yourself!

This beautiful electric blue ’32 Ford roadster nails the traditional look: low slung, minimalist, with enough style to attract attention wherever it goes. And the great thing about rods like this is that they cost a fraction as much as building one from scratch and let’s admit it: this is the car you’d build anyway. From the Brookville steel body to the rumbling 350 Chevy crate motor, it gets all the important stuff right. Starting with fresh sheetmetal right out of the press means there are zero problems under the skin—it’s new. It was built in Arizona, so the climate since it was finished was always friendly and there’s no sign of accident damage or other maladies anywhere on the car. Heck, with only 7839 miles since it was built, there hasn’t been much time for anything bad to happen to it. Panel gaps are excellent and the doors fit extremely well—better than Henry’s stuff to be sure. There’s also a steel 3-piece hood, a Vee’d windshield, and a painted radiator shell to give it a clean, no-nonsense look. They thankfully skipped any graphics, pinstripes, or other extraneous details so this sleek rod will look awesome 20 years from now when you’re still having fun with it.

The interior is beautifully done. The reproduction body offers a bit more space for driver and passenger, and the way the seat back wraps around into the bodywork is just plain cool. The contoured bench holds you in place during spirited driving and there’s plenty of leg room even for 6-footers. A traditional steering column holds a billet wheel that’s linked directly to the rack up front, so steering is sports car precise and while the angle of the wheel is old school, it’s comfortable and easy to manage. A full array of gauges from Classic Instruments have a 1930s look and monitor all the engine’s vitals at a glance. There’s a hidden stereo system in the trunk that’s managed with a remote, but if you need a radio in a car like this, you’re doing it wrong. Overhead there’s a tan canvas top that’s easy to remove and stow in the trunk and offers a modicum of protection from the sun and rain, although we bet you’ll prefer to run it alfresco most of the time. And that trunk is as beautifully finished as the interior, including removable bulkheads to access the electronics and stereo, as well as the gas tank.

The powertrain doesn’t break any new ground, but it’s powerful, reliable, and easy to maintain. The 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 is a mainstay of hot rod building, and it’s topped by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake manifold. Reliable GM HEI ignition handle the spark and there’s plenty of chrome and polished aluminum to make it worthwhile to open the hood. It starts easily, idles nicely, and pulls the featherweight roadster around with enough enthusiasm to scare most drivers. It’s downright quick! There’s also a giant radiator up front, so feel free to cruise on hot days, and there’s a heater for cooler spring and fall evenings when you’re just taking it easy with a friend. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic with overdrive, so it’s relaxed at speed, and there are 3.50 gears out back in the Ford rear end. The chassis is all new and includes a traditional dropped I-beam front axle on a leaf spring, while the rear is supported by a 4-link on coil-overs. A full stainless exhaust sounds awesome and has a trick single outlet in the center, and with rack-and-pinion steering and front disc brakes, it’s competent and easy to manage without feeling crude. 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels are the right choice for a period rod and carry staggered 165R15 front and 31x10.50R15 rear Michelin radials.

Extras include a car cover, a built-in battery tender, and a protective bag for the convertible top.

Admit it, this is the car you’d build if you had the time and money to do it from scratch. Why not skip the hard, expensive part and just get to the enjoyment? This beautiful ’32 Ford gets everything right—it’s easy to drive, easy to maintain, and looks killer going down the road. Get in and start having fun right away. Call now!
