It's great to see a 1956 Ford Mainline that has a ton of originality – right down to its two-tone style. So you know something this distinct is an instant crowd pleaser.
The mid-50s Fords were great cars. They had plenty of Thunderbird-style flair with headlight overhand and afterburner-style taillights. Plus, even these Mainline models had terrific bright work with wraparound bumpers, a wide grille, sleek side trim, and an integrated hood ornament. The Mainline name is a great reminder of what people really bought and drove in the '50s, and this has a terrific time capsule-like appearance – right down to the factory-correct Springmist Green and Colonial White two-tone. So driving this one really does feel like a rolling time machine.
The authentic feeling continues on the inside. This one retains the best of originality while still being a great showpiece. For example, no one expects a front bench seat to last 60+ years and still look presentable. So you can tell there was a solid investment keeping this one looking fresh while saying correct.
