1984 Defender 90 Cabriolet 3.9 Restomod (RHD)

The Land Rover Defender is one of the world’s most iconic cars, produced over a near 70 year period, starting with the original Land Rover in 1948 and finally ending official production in 2016 with some special models produced up until 2018. A car which was ultimately the first car much of the world’s population would ever see, being one of the most rugged and dependable vehicles of its time, particularly in its early history.

The Defender has always remained an essential piece of equipment for many though has admittedly lacked in the creature comforts department. This car has been built to a high specification to remedy this issue.

Built by the prestigious Auto Audio, the car is highly equipped and restored from the ground up, starting out with the bare chassis which is Galvanised. Under the bonnet lies a fuel-injected Rover 3.9 V8 built by JE Development to produce 220BHP. This combined with its 5 speed manual gearbox and  electronic Bilstein shocks makes for a truly remarkable driving experience which is both smooth and surprisingly fast for such a vehicle, without feeling overpowered as many Defender restomods do.

Inside the car isn’t without luxuries either, fitted with stunning tan, bespoke leather seats including seats in the back which gives an excellent 7 seat capacity. It’s also fitted with heated seats and a modern sat-nav system, all housed in a beautiful wooden dashboard. All in all, this is a new Land Rover in all but original build date as no detail has gone unnoticed. Certainly not to be missed!
