AC ACECA 1958

General description : One of AC’s most prominent post-war sports cars, the athletic and sleek Ace was first presented at the 1953 London Motor Show. With its Italian-influenced design, the Ace went on to serve as the basis for the legendary Shelby Cobra. The AC Ace is powered by a 1,991 CC OHV Inline 6-Cylinder Engine with Triple SU carburetors and produces 105 BHP at 4,500 RPM. The drivetrain runs through a 4-speed manual gearbox, with 4-wheel drum brakes and 4-wheel independent suspension. In the day, the Ace was a very responsive and capable package and “the car” to have. It was most certainly One of the Most Beautifully Designed Sports Cars of the Era. This Ace has accumulated approximately 28,000 miles from new. It remains in original, unrestored condition and free of an accident damage or rust. Repainted many years ago in its original Rouge Iris color, it has very minor lacquer checking on some panels, not uncommon for a finish of this vintage. All weather equipment (top, tonneau and side curtains) are original to this car. The interior displays the irreplaceable, honest patina of aged, high-quality materials. Mechanically, this Ace has been serviced when and where needed. Most recently, it has received full servicing, replacement of all filters and fluids, brake service, gearbox and differential service as well as fuel and ignition system service. Although having only 28,000 miles from new, it is mechanically sorted and ready for immediate use. This AC Ace left the factory on 21 June 1958 in exactly the same configuration as it sits today. It is an AC-engined Ace with its original matching engine. The car was shipped to the then East Coast AC importer, Hap Dressel's AC Imports Inc, Arlington, Va. It is an exceptional example, straight and proper throughout and of course much rarer than the Ace-Bristol with only 220 produced as opposed to 463 Ace Bristol engine cars. For nearly 30 years of its 54-year history, this factory left-hand-drive Ace was owned by Shelby Walker of Concord, New Hampshire. It has since been owned by four others who although using the car sparingly, have taken great care to keep this Ace in its current exceptional original condition. For the concours enthusiast it is perfect entrant for any preservation class. This AC is ideal for tours such as the California Mille, the Copperstate 1000, the Colorado Grand as well as the famed Italian Mille Miglia.

About AC ACECA
The AC Aceca is a sports coupe that was produced by AC Cars from 1954 to 1963. It was based on the AC Ace, but featured a fixed roof and a hatchback-style rear door, making it more practical for everyday use than the open-top Ace.

The Aceca was powered by a variety of engines over the years, including a 2.0-liter Bristol inline-six and a 2.6-liter Ford Zephyr inline-six. The latter engine was a popular choice among buyers, as it was both powerful and reliable.

In addition to its practicality, the Aceca was also known for its sporty handling and sleek styling. The car's fastback roofline and elegant curves gave it a distinctive look that set it apart from other sports cars of the era.

Today, the AC Aceca is a highly sought-after collector's car, particularly among enthusiasts who value its combination of performance and practicality. Prices for the Aceca can vary widely depending on the specific model, condition, and rarity, but well-maintained examples can fetch high prices
