Alfa Romeo 1300 GT junior (0) 1970

General description : Was everything so much better in the past? Even entry models seemed better put together than todays models. Just looking at entry models you see in today’s the dealership showrooms, you can readily confirm that none are as much fun as this 1971 Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior with 74,345 km on the clock. Giorgetto Giugiaro during his time at Studio Bertone was responsible for designing this Alfa Romeo from the 105 series. The lovely sculpted Italian Coupé only weighs 980 kg and is propelled by the world famous Alfa Romeo Twin Cam engine. The 1300 GT Junior was as its name suggests the baby of 105, having to make do with less power than its larger brother the 2000 GTV. On the plus side it did have an attractive ticket price and oodles of character. The Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior offers the opportunity to enjoy all of its power and fantastic roadholding all day long without having to worry about your accumulating penalty points on your driving license. That is the pleasure of having a light car with a great weight to power ratio. Our Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior is in particularly fine condition. The bodywork has nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. The paintwork is neat with only a few blemishes. The original colour paintwork was reapplied for cosmetic reasons. The steel wheel hubs are in great shape. Inside this little Alfa has a few signs of wear commiserate with its age and mileage. The seats and transmission tunnel are covered in vinyl. The instruments and switches are all in good condition and in good working order. Mechanically this 1300 GT is also very sound. The 1.3 litre engine has 2 twin Webers delivering 90HP. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox, which is precise and free of any play. The comparably short shifts gives one a greater sense of power than the actual figures reflectt. Pleasure in driving is paramount when getting behind the wheel of this Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior. This car was designed to give maximum driving pleasure and certainly succeeds in this aspect. This is a drivers car, not one to be left in the garage to look at. You will want to have a lovely time driving this gorgeous Italian coupé.
