Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0-16V T.Spark Very well maintained, electric roo 2001

General description : Finally, people are starting to see that the Alfa Romeo Spider is an unbelievably charming and fun Italian sports car. This Pininfarina designed convertible is that kind of car that has only gained in attractiveness over the years. We have a facelift, so-called Phase 2, 2001 car. It has a 150 PS 2.0 liter 4-cylinder Twin Spark engine with a manual 5-speed gearbox. The car is black on the outside and has beige leather interior trim. The front of the car has that lovely long nose line that would not be legally allowed these days. The design immediately generated an enthusiastic response with both the public and the press. The Alfa Romeo Spider was a great sales success. During the production run of the Spider and its enclosed brother, the GTV, more than 80,000 cars were sold. Our example was initially supplied in Germany and has only had 2 owners, clocking up 110,000 km. The up-to-date service book confirms the perfect maintenance the car has always enjoyed. Driving this car this care really shows off this attention to detail. The 4-cylinder engine with 8 spark plugs(Twin Spark) runs fabulously well. The 150 Ps the engine develops is more than enough to reach an impressive performance. The manual gearbox works well and precisely. This is typically the kind of car that gives you a broad grin every time you get behind the wheel. It may not be the fastest or most luxurious but it is so much more than the sum of its individual parts. Overall the car is in good condition. The bodywork is in good shape with only a few minor signs of use. The paintwork is also very neat with again only minor blemishes. Inside the car is well maintained. The leather is supple and the carpets, instrument panel, and controls are all in fine condition. The same goes for the neatly closing hood which also has the rare option of being electrically operated. The car is ready for many more years of open-top driving pleasure following a recent major service inclusive of replacement camshaft belt and tension pulleys. The car comes with a complete car wallet and a full set of keys. In short: a very nice Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 TS in fine condition. About Alfa Romeo Spider
The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail, also known as the Alfa Romeo Spider Series 2, is a classic sports car that was produced by Alfa Romeo from 1970 to 1982. Here's some information about its development and features:

1. Development: The Kammtail version of the Alfa Romeo Spider was introduced as a redesign of the original Spider, which was styled by Pininfarina. The Series 2 model featured several updates, including a new "Kamm" or "Kammtail" style rear end.

2. Kammtail Design: The Kammtail design was characterized by a truncated, squared-off rear end with a vertical rear window. This design element was influenced by the research of German aerodynamicist Wunibald Kamm, who found that a tapering rear end could reduce aerodynamic drag.

3. Styling and Features: The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail maintained the classic and elegant lines of its predecessor but featured updates such as a revised front grille, new bumpers, and larger taillights. The interior received some enhancements as well, including improved seating and revised dashboard layout.

4. Engine and Performance: The Spider Kammtail was offered with a range of engines throughout its production run, including inline-four engines with displacements ranging from 1.3 to 2.0 liters. These engines provided spirited performance and a thrilling driving experience, characteristic of Alfa Romeo sports cars.

5. Popularity and Collector Status: The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail has gained popularity among classic car enthusiasts due to its timeless design, open-top driving experience, and relatively accessible pricing compared to some other classic Italian sports cars. It is considered a classic car icon and continues to be appreciated by enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

6. Cultural Significance: The Spider Kammtail gained significant exposure and recognition through its appearance in the 1967 film "The Graduate," where a red Alfa Romeo Spider played a prominent role. This exposure contributed to its desirability and iconic status.

The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail is celebrated for its distinctive design, enjoyable driving dynamics, and its connection to automotive history and pop culture. It remains a sought-after classic car today, valued for its timeless appeal and the exhilaration it provides behind the wheel.
