General description : Gorgeous 1947 Bentley Mark VI Drophead with Coachwork by Hooper This magnificent 1947 Bentley Mark VI Drophead with coachwork by Hooper is beautiful inside and out and is an excellent driver. Tan over brown with brown leather and RHD. The body has no rust and neither does the frame. The beautiful two-tone paint has no dents, chips, or stone dings. Nice chromework and a tidy interior. The Mark VI is one of the few cars from its day that can comfortably be driven for long distances. The interior of the car is beautiful with its burled wood dash/trim and tan leather seats that are in very good condition. The Convertible top is in great condition and functions properly. The car starts right up and drives smoothly as it should. A wonderful opportunity to own and drive a classic Drophead Bentley. Price: $79,500

About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
