erstmalig 1989 auf der IAA in Frankfurt vorgestellt. Er beerbte den BMW 6er (Baureihe E24), den 8er gab es nur als Coupé. Die Technik und Motoren kamen teilweise vom damals aktuellen 7er, dem E32. Der 850er oder auch E31 war bis zu seiner Einstellung 1999 das teuerste Modell im BMW-Programm. Im Herbst 1992 wurde die Baureihe um den 850CSi mit einem 280 kW (380 PS) starken Zwölfzylinder nach oben ergänzt. Dieser wurde ausschließlich mit 6-Gang-Schaltgetriebe und einer mitlenkenden Integral-Hinterachse angeboten. Dieser BMW galt als einer der innovativsten Sportwagen seiner Zeit.
Der hier angebotene 850 CSI ist ein Schweiz Import. Er stammt aus 3ter Hand. Dieser BMW ist stets vorbildlich gewartet worden ist voll komplett dokumentiert und die Kilometer Leistung ist nachvollziehbar. Die Farbkombination ist stimmig und sehr elegant. Dieser BMW befindet sich in einem sehr guten Zustand. Die Karosserie und der Lack sind original. Der Innenausstattung in einem hervorragenden Zustand. Der Motor ist frisch in einer BMW Werkstatt gewartet, die Fahrleistungen sind brachial. Getriebe schaltet exakt, Bremsen und Fahrwerk, sowie die mitlenkende Hinderachse sind einwandfrei. Es handelt sich hier um sehr rares Modell, vom CSI sind nur 1.510 Fahrzeuge gebaut worden.Ein edler Sportwagen, der aufgrund seiner zeitgerechten Katalysatortechnik auch mit grüner Plakette bewegt werden kann. Ein Youngtimer mit Kultstatus!
