Buick GS 400ci (325hp) 1968

General description : 1968 Buick GS400 The Gran Sport option was added to the Buick Skylark in 1965 and offered the largest engine permitted by GM at the time.  The Gran Sport earned its spot in the line up because for the first and second years more Skylarks were sold with the Gran Sport option then without.  In 1967 it earned a model all its own and became the GS400.  The clean Buick GS 400 convertible you see here is a nice example of one of these cars and has undergone a complete restoration.  It has belonged to the current owner for the past 5 years and has been very well cared for.  The body is very solid and coated in a nice Mist Green paint that almost looks more Silver in certain light.  There are no notable issues outside of a small chip on the lower passenger side door.  All of the chrome and stainless steel trim is cleanly mounted in place.  All of it is original and has a really nice shine.  It is evident how well the car had been treated throughout its life and subsequently since the restoration.  It has 93,292 miles on it now and was restored at 90,000 so the build is still very fresh.  All of the glass on it is original as well and also in good condition.  Paired with the paint is a Black power convertible top that works properly.  The car has a nice stance and rides on its original wheels with Buick center caps.  Under the hood the car features its original 400 ci V8 that has been totally rebuilt.  They were advertised at 325hp but according to some sources this HP rating was kept purposely low in publications to avoid higher insurance premiums.  Either way, it is a great running engine with plenty of power.  Everything has been kept very stock appearance including the 400-4 decals on the valve covers and air cleaner.  Backing the motor up is a 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly.  Underneath the car is all solid with solid floors and pans throughout.  Some recent work done on the car is a new power brake booster, new battery and the radiator was rebuilt.    The interior of the car is in great condition and was redone in Black upholstery.  It has a split bench seat up front and both front rear seats have matching Black lap belts.  The dash has a stock layout and everything is working except for the fan switch and the clock.  The fan switch doesn't allow you to change the AC fan speed but the AC does blow cold and works great.  The trunk of the car offers plenty of storage space and it has a nice trunk mat, spare tire with cover, and jack. This is a really clean car that runs well and it is being offered up for a great price.  It isn't that often that a nice restored classic comes up in this price range.   This car has been SOLD! About Buick
Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.

To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
