Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1955 Chevrolet 210 Handyman Wagon! In the early 50's Chevrolet was tossing around the idea of replacing their aging Styleline DeLuxe. In 1953 the Two-Ten or simply 210 debuted and the fresh styling recaptured the market. The 210 was offered with various trims and styles, 2-door, 4-door and even a wagon. The 210 would see 2 generations up until 1957 when it would be replaced by the Biscayne. Here we have a '55 model, and a Handyman wagon to boot. The two tone, black body with white top looks good, by HOK. The black vinyl interior is complementary to the exterior and is in good order. Originally per the first digit of “V" in the vin it is a factory 8-cylinder wagon. The original engine is long gone and a 327ci V8 from a '62 Impala and mated to a Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission. She sounds so good! Sporting a 3.73 gear ratio which provides a nice balance between power and cruising. Owner has installed a Lunati BareBones Cam, Bravada Rear End, Tronic Ignition, Custom Interior, Power Steering by CPP, 4-Wheel Power Disk Brakes and Classic Auto A/C & Heat. Current owner has had her for over 6 years, acquired from a private owner out of Ohio. This 210 had a body off restoration and drivetrain swap in 2015. The interior was finished in 2017 and the repaint was in 2019 and ceramic coated. There are pictures available upon request. If you want a really cool ride that is going to make you stand out and turns heads before they see you coming, this Handyman Wagon is for you! Options on this 210 are: A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, AM/FM Radio, and White Wall Tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
